Solved Background Image in reply box.

Post by Cell Tennyson on January 27th 2014, 1:44 pm

Hello there Friends!

I want to add background image in quick reply box just like here in forumotions. But i only know one code for that which does not do the entire work.
Code:
.sceditor-container iframe, sceditor-container textarea {
      background-image: url("IMAGE'S URL") !important;
}

I need your help so that i can add an image in quick reply box which is a little transparent, positioned at the center. Just like here in forumotions...See picture below

Hello,

Perhaps it should be a single quotation mark within the parenthesis:
Code:
.sceditor-container iframe, sceditor-container textarea {
  background-image: url('IMAGE'S URL') !important;
}

Code:
('IMAGE URL')

Try it first and see if it will work. Wink

Well this is not the complete code and it only adds image which is not even positioned at the center and is totally opaque. This is not what i want, i want it just like the one here in forumotions see the pic above.

Also the image is appearing like this.

This is not what i want.. I want background image just like here in forumotions which is a little transparent and positioned at centre.

Remove the previous codes and try it with the opacity property:
Code:
.sceditor-container iframe, .sceditor-container textarea {
  background-image: url('IMAGE'S URL') !important;
  background-position: center center !important;
  background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
  opacity: 0.4;
  }

Code:

.sceditor-container iframe, .sceditor-container textarea {
  background-image: url('IMAGE'S URL') !important;
  background-position: center center !important;
  background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
  opacity: 0.4;

Ok, you will need to adjust the opacity property higher, try this one:
Code:
.sceditor-container iframe, .sceditor-container textarea {
              background-image:  url('IMAGE'S URL') !important;
              background-position:  center center !important;
              background-repeat:  no-repeat !important;
              opacity: 0.6;
        }

You can try 0.7, 0.8, 0.9 etc. to adjust it to your liking.

I just want the background image a little transparent but the code is making other things in quick reply also transparent. Please try to understand. The way here is much better than the way you are telling Mr Jophy.. why other things are getting transparent when i only want the BG image a little transparent.

First, have you tried the code I provided above? As I said you can adjust the opacity higher if you want the font and background image to be adjusted as well.

I'm trying to provide something similar(as I don't know the exact code for here) but if that's not what you want then you will need to wait for others.

Yes of course i have tried your script. But it is still not giving the desired result thats why i've removed it. See here in forumtions the BG image is only a Little transparent and not the text that is being entered.

You will need to create an image that has the transparency you want then you can add it to the editor.
