V. I. P. Membership

Post by Bazinga! on January 28th 2014, 9:05 pm

If you were going to offer a V. I. P. membership to your forum, what kind of benefits would you offer?

Do you think offering a V. I. P. membership would help make your forum more popular?

I have it on my Coding Support forum, I offer priority assistance, their own forum, double points to use on the store, their own rank, and discounted themes.

I've never had a VIP/Premium Membership on my forum, personally, but I'm sure there are several benefits to having it. =) I don't really need one, though, since I don't really have anything to offer to a VIP if they became one.

I only offer VIP members a hidden forum that only they can see.

Yes but what do you have in the forum. That's what he is asking. He is looking for ideas..
You have only discussions?

It depends on the forum: special codes, tips & tricks, themes, graphics, templates, information about PC games, etc.

I also allow the VIP members to offer their services in the VIP area. Services like graphics, writings, creating codes, etc.

Thank you everyone that have responded so far. I see a lot of good ideas.

What would everyone offer for a literature based forum? Any suggestions?

Maybe a cover for a story written by a member or graphics for the story.

Basically a private forum and unique profile customization such as name glow, crown, etc.. Also giving letting them use special messages (lock & sticky their own stuff). But yeah, more benefits come with different forums.

Here is what I've got so far on my forum:

  • V.I.P.'s get their own rank (visible anywhere on the forum).
  • V.I.P.'s get their own section on the forum.
  • V.I.P.'s get to earn double the points in the "V.I.P." section.
  • V.I.P.'s are able to sell their own stuff in the store.
  • There are services/activities available in the "V.I.P." section of the forum.

Is there anything else I can add to this>

I used to give a Top-Level Domain Name to my VIP members who donated more than 15$. They had also access to some special freebies!

I appreciate all the help that they given us Smile

If he/she is continuing helping in the forum.. i promote them to the staff.
By the way.. All ideas in this topic are great!, i will use them someday in the future hehe

People who are helpful enough to be a staff member, do get a staff position on my forum. However, if a staff member retires, they do get the V.I.P. membership for their service on my forum. That's kind of a way to say 'thank you' for their service and hard work.

But this thread is to talk about what kind of benefits do you give to people who acquire V.I.P. status on your forum.
