Solved.

Post by exploitgeek on February 4th 2014, 6:13 pm

Hello again. i am having a issue i was wondering if you could help me with.

My board is invision. and i'm trying to build a gaming community, and as social media is a great driving tool to try and build my members from

I have set up in the ACP to show, facebook, twitter, gaming tags etc in users profile.

but it does not appear. i shall attach two images to try and explain better.

Image 1

I would like it to display there along with my 16x16 icons i have made. but instead it displays in a dropdown menu. which appears to be broke. as you will see in the following image.

Is there a way i can correct this? or is it a CMS / theme issue?

Hello exploitgeek,

To attempt to fix the popup positioning, add the following to your CSS.

Administration Panel > Display > Pictures and colors > Colors > CSS stylesheet
Code:
.postprofile-head.post-header { position:relative !important; }

Hello,Ange Tuteur

That did not fix the issue. is it possible to disable the popup, and just have the fields display under the users name?
abit like this website does, with browser and board information?

Sorry, I had misread your post. I thought you were experiencing the misplacement of the popup. I checked the theme and the icons seem to be the problem. Add this to your CSS :
Code:
.popupmenu li a.profile-icon { float:none !important; }

I do not believe you can disable the popup, but if you want it like the support you'll have to switch to PhpBB3.
Administration Panel > Display > Choose a theme > Version

You would have to manually add the images and edit the coding to use the theme on a different version.

Adding the images, should be pretty basic. as for the coding is there a great deal to change?

Each version has different CSS ID's, so you would go through each line of the CSS and change the ID's.

Thanks for the reply. is there no 3'rd party tools i can use to convert it over?

I really want to keep this design. i just really want to implement twitter etc to show under the users name without the use of dropdown menu's

or is there a way it can be done via coding?

I have not seen any third-party software that converts themes. You can look at the promotional section of the support forum to see if there is any forum that offers this service.

Quick update guys.

I along with a friend have managed to successfully transfer theme from invision to phpbb2.
alot of time and editing went into it, and huge edits to the theme itself. i may have 1 issue at the moment what i might need to rely on you guys for assistance. but i will not know until later this evening. i am just about to start transfering it all across now.

just thought i'd give you a heads up.

The transfer went okay, with a few little hiccups, and there is one i can't get my head around.

Which is this with the following footer.

As you can see, there is a issue there. so i guessed it would be in overall_footer_begin.tpl but could not locate any issues. i there for removed all the code from with in the .tpl and it "kind of" worked ending up with this result.

As you can see. it ended up with Huge text, but the appearance is how it should be.

i shall include my footer CSS, i shall not include footer begin, as i have not edited, just deleted it.

Code:
#page-footer{
background-image: url('MY IMAGE URL');
background-repeat: repeat y;
}

Any ideas would be really helpfull.

Footer image not appearing as it should. And throws off the alignment.

Sorry I should have included a link.

Oh, you are using that theme.

Could you please remove the codes you added to modify it?

If I remove them, then no footer shows at all.
