In progress A few problems

Post by Mysterykid on February 7th 2014, 8:43 am

Alright, not trying to sound bossy but I have a few questions if you guys can help me with.

1. I would like to make a slideshow on the top of the forum saying stuff Like "Hello there" but going left to right.
2. How can I make my forums for only registered users as in how can I make people register in order to use the forums
3. If I change my forum version will all my posts/stuff on the older version be deleted?
4. How can I add a top poster chart? like this forums?

Any answers would be appreciated thanks!

Hi,

For your questions:

(1.) About the slideshows, you may refer here: http://help.forumotion.com/t105173-how-can-i-get-nivo-slider-with-orman-theme-box-animations#686395

(2.) For this question, you mean that guest can't view your forum unless they register an account ?

(3.) If posts/threads i think there's no harm for it Wink

(4.) It's located at your forum widgets: Admin Panel => Modules => Portals & Widgets => Forum widgets management. Read more about it here: http://help.forumotion.com/t22589-forum-widgets

Hello,

1. You can set up scrolling announcements to imitate a slideshow. Here is a tutorial: http://help.forumotion.com/t38436-scrolling-announcements

2. You will need to modify each forums' permissions so that it can only be viewed by registered members.
Do this at:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Categories and forums (on the left, under Forum)
4. Click on the permissions sign Permson a forum
5. Uncheck 'View the forum' for guests
6. Repeat for all forums as necessary
3. Your posts will remain if you change the version but your entire skin will be changed dramatically.

4. See above post ^

Please change your title to something that is related to your problems so that other members can benefit from using the search engine.

In future, you should open up separate topics for each question. You may also read our list of FAQs here: http://help.forumotion.com/t59451-frequently-asked-questions

Thanks!
