In progress Flood control issues on our forum

Post by Xyer February 18th 2014, 9:36 pm

Hey, my name is Xyer and I'm an admin on a small forum I have with a group of friends called Lost and Banned.

http://lostandbanned.forumotion.com/

We've been having issues with the flood control for about 24 hours now. Even though we have it set to 9999 and it's never been a problem before, it's somehow always active now (it seems to reset back to 10 every few hours). The weird part is it only affects a few of us. Everyone is an admin so it shouldn't affect us but it does.

This hasn't been an issue before and I've generally been liking Forumotion after moving from Forumer last year. This is an annoying issue for us so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Good Evening, try and turn the settings off

ACP >> General Tab >>  Flood control issues on our forum Configuration Forum >> Security
Flood control. Delay between 2 messages, topics or private messages by (0) then save.

This should fix your problem or leave the box blank

Thanks for the reply but it didn't work. It clearly says the minimum is 10.

Minimum : 10 - Maximum : 9999

If I enter a 0, it automatically turns into a 10. When we put it at 9999, we still get flood controlled. It's insanely annoying.

A few of us use Firefox and others use Chrome. Two of us with the flood control issue are using FF and another member who also uses FF doesn't have any flood control issues at all.

I don't really see how a browser can affect a forum's features.

ohh yeah sorry i forgot about the 10 sec thing lol what you could do is Resynchronize your forum
ACP Flood control issues on our forum Arrow_12General Tab Flood control issues on our forum Arrow_12Flood control issues on our forum Configuration Forum Flood control issues on our forum Arrow_12Configuration
Right the way to the bottom of the page and tick the box marked
Check to resynchronize and then Flood control issues on our forum Arrow_12SAVE

see if that fixes your problem
if not please give a screen shot of your problem and maybe we can get buttercup to get our tech team to take a look for you.

I thought the resynchronize thing worked but apparently not. We just got the flood control error again.

This is very frustrating.

Let's get some information:

1. Who exactly is affected by this?
2. Did you add anything or modify anything right before this happened?
3. Are all affected members using the same browsers?
4. Is this happening on mobile devices, laptops, or desktops?
