Solved Re: Is it possible to grid it ?

Post by Pizza Boi on March 2nd 2014, 6:10 pm

Hi Very Happy

I'm confused about the whole table spacing thing. Anyway, if you may, delete this in your index_box (Template in General):

Code:
<td class="tcr">
<span>
<!-- BEGIN switch_topic_title -->
<a href="{catrow.forumrow.U_LATEST_TOPIC}" title="{catrow.forumrow.LATEST_TOPIC_TITLE}">{catrow.forumrow.LATEST_TOPIC_NAME}</a><br />
<!-- END switch_topic_title -->
{catrow.forumrow.USER_LAST_POST}
</span>
</td>

As well as:

Code:
<th class="tcr">{L_LASTPOST}</th>

Make sure you save it and publish Smile.

Pizza Boi

Hi Very Happy

My eyes failed me, fail.

Try searching the equivalent of that since punBB can be edited via templates. It should probably in the same template as well.

Hello VoxThePie,

We cannot give away the images for our theme. It is done via pics management using a large .gif file (430 * 75)

Administration Panel > Display > Pics management > Advanced > Icons for topics

Hi Very Happy

Can you please take another screen shot of what you want and use a paint marker? My English is bad.

At least an example or so would suffice.

Solved Re: Is it possible to grid it ?

Post by Pizza Boi on March 4th 2014, 12:24 pm

Hi Very Happy

Okay, I suck at editing punBB, but I think I have an idea on how to do it.

In index_box (Template), find this chunk of code:

Code:
<tr>
                  <td class="tcl" style="padding-right: {catrow.forumrow.INC_LEVEL_RIGHT}; padding-left: {catrow.forumrow.INC_LEVEL_LEFT};">
                     <span class="status" style="margin-right: -{catrow.forumrow.INC_WIDTH_ICON}; margin-left: -{catrow.forumrow.INC_WIDTH_ICON};">
                        <img title="{catrow.forumrow.L_FORUM_FOLDER_ALT}" src="{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_FOLDER_IMG}" alt="{catrow.forumrow.L_FORUM_FOLDER_ALT}" />
                     </span>
                     <h{catrow.forumrow.LEVEL} class="hierarchy"><a href="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}" class="forumtitle">{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_NAME}</a></h{catrow.forumrow.LEVEL}>
                     <br />
                     {catrow.forumrow.FORUM_DESC}
                     <!-- BEGIN switch_moderators_links -->
                     <br />
                     {catrow.forumrow.switch_moderators_links.L_MODERATOR}{catrow.forumrow.switch_moderators_links.MODERATORS}
                     <!-- END switch_moderators_links -->
                     {catrow.forumrow.L_LINKS}{catrow.forumrow.LINKS}
                     <strong>{forumrow.L_SUBFORUM_STR}</strong> {forumrow.SUBFORUMS}
                  </td>
                  <td class="tc2">{catrow.forumrow.TOPICS}</td>
                  <td class="tc3">{catrow.forumrow.POSTS}</td>
                  <td class="tcr">
                     <span>
                     <!-- BEGIN switch_topic_title -->
                     <a href="{catrow.forumrow.U_LATEST_TOPIC}" title="{catrow.forumrow.LATEST_TOPIC_TITLE}">{catrow.forumrow.LATEST_TOPIC_NAME}</a><br />
                     <!-- END switch_topic_title -->
                     {catrow.forumrow.USER_LAST_POST}
                     </span>
                  </td>
               </tr>

And then there's the index_body where you can find this:

Code:
<!-- BEGIN switch_legend -->
<ul id="pun-legend">
   <li>
      <img src="{FORUM_NEW_IMG}" alt="{L_NEW_POSTS}" />{L_NEW_POSTS}
      <img src="{FORUM_IMG}" alt="{L_NO_NEW_POSTS}" />{L_NO_NEW_POSTS}
      <img src="{FORUM_LOCKED_IMG}" alt="{L_FORUM_LOCKED}" />{L_FORUM_LOCKED}
   </li>
</ul>
<!-- END switch_legend -->

My idea would be is that once you've edited your categories into your liking, you can incorporate to loop the 2 codes.

Sorry, I'm also not sure if Javascript would be required with this, but the codes I posted above might be used as an idea.

I'll give you a heads-up if I can work it out.

Pizza Boi

Hi Very Happy

Because it's very important that we know it for code compatibility.

Anyway, the one you want to do requires almost the same method as I posted, I'll work on it or wait for someone to post an answer. Thanks.

Hi,

It is essential you provide us with the correct forum version. Each version has different sets of selectors that are used to style the elements of your forum. Furthermore, only two versions have the ability to modify templates; punbb and phpbb2. If you provide us with a sufficient amount of information, we can find the most effective way to solve your query.

Let us recap :

Your version is Invision ?

If so, we would most likely need to modify the DOM using javascript to achieve what you want. I will have a look later to see.

Hello,

This is the most I can come up with.

Administration Panel > Modules > Javascript codes management > Create a new script

Title : what you wish
Placement : in the homepage
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
  $('td a[href^="http://voxthepie.forum.st/f"]').after('<div class="check-post">No new posts</div>');
  $('.check-post').each(function() {
  var href = $(this).prev().attr('href');
  $(this).load(href + ' .row1.centered',function() {
  if ($(this).find('img[alt^="New posts"]').length) { $(this).html('<font color="red">New posts</font>') }
  else { $(this).html('No new posts') }
  });
  });
});

Add this to your CSS :
Code:
#c1 .row1.centered, #c1 .row2.centered, #c1 .row1 { display:none; }

You may need to adjust your HTML some.
