Solved Set Layer

Post by Tinboh on March 4th 2014, 1:47 am

So on my site I have this grey layer which I made and positioned behind the forum content, but over top of the background itself.

Here's the code I made in my CSS stylesheet to make it:
Code:

.pun {#square
   width: 130px;
   height: 7750px;
   background: #404040 ;
        -webkit-border-radius: 5px;
-moz-border-radius: 5px;
 border-radius: 5px;}

So my problem is is that whenever I add something onto my forum, I need to edit the height and width so the grey layer doesn't extend too much and shift. I was wondering if there was a way to make it so that it is permanently set at the bottom of the page no matter how much content I delete or add on.

For instance the white layer on this site itself seems to fit on every page without being cut too short or extending too much. Is there any way to set it so that by default it stretches past the forum content?

Hi Very Happy

Add this in your code:

Code:
position: absolute;

You can also try 'fixed'.

Woah, that was weird. Using "absolute" shifted the entire page to the left. Using "fixed" brought the footer links/copyrights to the top and deleted the rest of the site, more or less. I got rid of the code and everything went back to normal, thankfully. haha

Hello Tinboh,

Remove the height property from pun and allow it to be auto. Add this to your CSS :
Code:
.pun {
    height:auto !important;
    overflow:hidden !important;
}
