Pro Admin #821 Ads appear on the registration form/Ads appeaing in the wrong places

Post by masesm on March 7th 2014, 12:28 am

First topic message reminder :

This does not happen all the time (obviously), but in this case, one of my members was registering, and they could not fill out the form because the page was blocked by an ad. I know it is not a script I put in their (since this does not happen all the time), so it is obviously a bug. It happened to me once on the Internet Explorer, and this member reported it on Google Chrome, so it happens on multiple browsers.

Right now the issue has gone away with the ad that is up (something about cars). I think it may be certain types of ads are having the issue like that milky way one which happened for me, as well as others. I'm not sure but I'm guessing this has to do with it?

Don't want to flood this thread with non-helpful posts so if this is out of order, just delete.

I'm reporting a change for the better:

Today, I'm reporting that the Milky Way ad is IN the ad box.  It gravitated to the box yesterday evening, and it has not strayed out to block the log in or anything else.

I refreshed several times in a row, just to make sure it would not move out, and it stayed in the box.  What I don't still understand is why Milky Way, as this does not reflect any search that I have made.

Nevertheless, as long as the ad is in the ad box, things look neat, so it's a change for the better.

it's a milky way ad and the good old sunpat peanut butter for me lol the only thing is i have not ever looked for that on my browser at any time as i can't stand the bloody things lol

Come to think of it i don't search for anything really well not on this computer this is just for forum work only.  so i think Google is just doing as they please like they always do.

Topic reopened By APE and marked as Pro admin

Hello,

As I explained in this topic: http://help.forumotion.com/t140857-ads-cover-login-page sometimes the ads seem to glitch and cover the entire login form, making it hard to login. I can only personally confirm this from my cellphone when viewing on Classic version. It is not just stationery to the login page either, ever so often when viewing a topic it will glitch and cover the top portion of the topic.

This has happened on my test forum (http://www.testingduo.forumotion.com/ ) and my main forum (Link in my profile). I have a screenshot, in fact I have a couple if you wish to see them.

Thanks,
-Brandon

Here are the screenshots, one is of my test forum and its login page, the other is of my main forum, when it appeared to glitch on a page other then the login page.

Yes this is via my phone, but I have heard reports from others who use computers that it occurs on those too... Though I cant personally confirm this. Just that it happens on the mobile.

Hello

We need
1- the code source of the ad It helps to know who is the advertiser who displays the ads! Once we had the information, the ads providers can block the ads in few minutes
You just have to right click>> Copy url of the link

2-ads link (click on the ads and copy/past the url of the ads)

I will get back to you with it if I see it and get it.

Hi again guys,

This issue is slightly different then the above, but it appears you locked the other topic about mobile ads redirection.

I have come here to make a report, lately whenever I attempt to post or do anything on my forum using my regular account from my phone, I would get redirected to a page on a different site, I never click any of the ads, it automaticly redirects, I also get a pop up sometimes as well. I had ads disabled for admins and mods, therefore I never got it on my admin account. For awhile I just ignored it, thinking maybe it would go away, it has not. Today I decided to temporarily enable the ads to mods and admins for today, to see if I could recreate the issue in my admin account. I have now been able to, I took screenshots and copy and pasted the ad link.

Here are the screenshots:

http://prntscr.com/884y2i

http://prntscr.com/884z1b

Here is the url I am redirected to by the ad: http://giveaway-day.com-us-m.net/news/phone/usa/phone_us_applewatch01_tt/?opt1=www.adtrks.net%2Fdatt%2Fnav%2Fgo%2F27574%2F27576%3Fv%3D43377945&json={%22offers%22:{%22opt1%22:{%22link%22:%22www.adtrks.net%2Fdatt%2Fnav%2Fgo%2F27574%2F27576%3Fv%3D43377945%22,%22price%22:%22-%22,%22name%22:%22-%22}},%22config%22:{%22lang%22:%22%22,%22country%22:%22%22}}&client={%22info%22:{%22country%22:[{%22isoCode%22:%22US%22,%22name%22:%22United%20States%22}],%22state%22:[{%22isoCode%22:%22MD%22,%22name%22:%22Maryland%22}],%22subdivision%22:[{%22isoCode%22:%22MD%22,%22name%22:%22Maryland%22}],%22cp%22:%2221213%22}}

Url to my forum: http://www.broadcastingduo.forumotion.com/forum

I know this is an issue on your end, I hope you figure it out and fix it soon. I dont know if any of my other users get this, I hope not, but it has begun to annoy me. If you need any other information, I will do everything in my power to get whatever you need for you.

Regards,
-Brandon
