Archiving Catagories and Forums

Hi there

I noticed several times when a question has been solved, sometimes the post is completed by saying it's solved and archived.

I also noticed on this Forum there is an archive catagory. I would like to do the same thing to a Forum I just took over by moving Catagories and Forums into an Archived area.

Can I create a Catagory called Archived and move Catagories and Forums into it? Or is there some other way I should be doing it?

When creating the forum scroll all the way to the bottom. You should see an option for auto pruning. Simply enable it and fill in your desired information. It will look something like this:

So you want to move a whole category to an archived area?

@Slgray, he wants to move catagories by pruning them. This forum uses it

I am in the process of moving them manually into the "Basket" just to get them out of the way and to see what/if we need them. There are a large number of Forums/Catagories everywhere. Once they have been moved, I plan on reviewing them, saving or deleting them. 

Then I was going to implement the pruning going forward. 

Not sure if there was an easier way but I felt I needed to see what was in each Catagory/Forum. 

Do Catagories and Forums get pruned, or just the Topics?

When I topic is solved or completed on the support forum, we manually move it to the correct archived section.

Pruning is based on dates.
