Back button when reading new posts
Hi everyone
When I click "read new posts" a list of new posts come up. If I click on a thread, read it, and click the back button it takes me back to the list of all new posts, which is what I want.
If I reply to a post, how can I get back to the list of all new posts? If I click the back button it takes me to my post that I replied to.
Thanks

Hi
Yes, this needs Javascript. I'll see if I can work on this since I'm still a newbie, unless Ange already posts a solution.

Hello Guardian-Angel,
You're speaking of the 'view posts since last visit' link, correct ? It's pathname and query are :
You could probably setup a navbar link for it :
Administration panel > display > headers and navigation > add a customized menu
Menu : View new posts
Picture : none
Text : View new posts
Redirection URL : /search?search_id=newposts
Rights : Admins, Mods, Members
Once done, save and the link should display on the navbar throughout the forum. Last thing you can do is change its position in the navbar, if you wish.

It's the little things that make me happy!
That worked easily.
It is in the top right hand corner of the navbar. Is it possible to have it at the top and the bottom of the page? If so, how do I get there?

Re: Back button when reading new posts
Why not do this? Load the list page then right click the link to a new post and open a new window, so you have the list page still open.

You can also click a link while holding the CTRL key to open in a new window.
To set it at the bottom of the page, you can make it a footer link.
Administration panel > modules > Footer links > configuration
Tick 'yes' for 'Activate footer links' and save. Then create a new footer link with the following :

For the site link, make sure you use your forum URL.
