Solved Moving/removing some links

Post by Klemen on March 26th 2014, 6:38 pm

Hi,
is it possible to remove the links marked with the red color, move those with the yellow color to the bottom and add a search function next to them (like the search option usually in the navigation bar). See the attached image.

Solved Re: Moving/removing some links

Hi Very Happy

Try these:

Code:
#main-content > ul:nth-child(6) > li:nth-child(1) > a, #main-content > ul:nth-child(6) > li:nth-child(1), #main-content > ul:nth-child(6) > li:nth-child(2) > a, #main-content > ul:nth-child(6) > li:nth-child(2), #main-content > ul:nth-child(6) > li:nth-child(3) > a {
position: relative;
top: 88px;
}

#main-content > ul:nth-child(6) > li.rightside > a, #main-content > ul:nth-child(8) > li:nth-child(1) > a, #main-content > ul:nth-child(8) > li:nth-child(1), #main-content > ul:nth-child(8) > li:nth-child(2) > a, #main-content > ul:nth-child(8) > li:nth-child(2), #main-content > ul:nth-child(8) > li.last > a {
visibility: hidden !important;
}

By the way, can you please just search the other "Search Box" thing here? I don't know why, but I'm getting 504 messages a lot with this stable net. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of stuff about it here.

Pizza Boi

Hi Very Happy

I stated in this topic: http://help.forumotion.com/t131845-recent-topic-font-size#884554 that nth-child's aren't that accurate and since the ones you marked aren't that accurate, I had to use nth-child from my computer's view.

It's technically hard as well to edit things with phpBB3 without template...

If I try the general code for it, it makes everything disappear. Sorry if I didn't manage to solve this one =x, hopefully someone can formulate for phpBB3.

Pizza Boi

Hello Klemen,

Add this to your javascripts :
Administration panel > modules > javascript codes management > create a new script

Title : what you wish
Placement : in the homepage
Paste the code below and save :
Code:
$(function() {
  $('.linklist:has(a[href$="?search_id=newposts"]), rightside:has(a[href=$"?mark=forums"])').remove();
  $('.linklist:has(.last a[href$="?mode=overall_posters"])').html('<li><a href="/search?search_id=newposts">View posts since last visit</a></li><li><a href="/search?search_id=egosearch">View your posts</a></li><li><a href="/search?search_id=unanswered">View unanswered posts</a></li><div id="search-box"><form method="get" action="/search?search_where=11" id="search"><p class="nomargin"><input name="search_keywords" id="keywords" maxlength="128" class="inputbox search" value="Search..." onclick="if (this.value == \'Search...\') this.value = \'\';" onblur="if (this.value == \'\') this.value = \'Search...\';" type="text"><input class="button2" value="Search" type="submit"></p></form></div>');
});

What happens when you use the search bar appended there ?

I've tested and it is working for me.

It does not show up...

It would be better to just use a link to advanced search (http://greenchip.playogame.com/search) now that I think about it though.

Try adding this to your CSS :
Administration panel > display > colors > CSS stylesheet
Code:
.linklist p.nomargin { position:static !important; }

You have CSS that is modifying the search bar.

If that doesn't work, you can replace your script by :
Code:
    $(function() {
        $('.linklist:has(a[href$="?search_id=newposts"]), rightside:has(a[href=$"?mark=forums"])').remove();
        $('.linklist:has(.last a[href$="?mode=overall_posters"])').html('<li><a href="/search?search_id=newposts">View posts since last visit</a> </li><li><a href="/search?search_id=egosearch">View your posts</a> </li><li><a href="/search?search_id=unanswered">View unanswered posts</a> </li><li><a href="/search">Search</a></li>');
    });
