Solved Customizing A Template

Post by Shah Chelsea Hazel on March 28th 2014, 10:11 am

Hello. A new theme has been installed here:Live The Magic

I have a few questions?:

  1. The heading of the widgets are not seen. Even if there are pictures for the widgets, those are not seen either. Example - above the pictures of admins, there's supposed to be another picture, or text. But it's not seen.
  2. Some text is in Spanish. Like here:click me. Under the topic names, something is written. And I don't know spanish, so I don't know what it says. Where can I change this?
  3. Over here, and every topic actually, is there a way to change the position of the avatar. Like, over there it's at the right side bottom under the signature. How can I change it over to the left top side?

Other than that, nothing wrong has come up yet.

Thank you for any help Very Happy

Hello Shah Chelsea Hazel,

Your widget titles are hidden by CSS, add this to your stylesheet to show them :
Code:
.module .h3 { visibility:visible !important; }

Add this to your CSS to change the texts of posts/views into English :
Code:
.forumbg .row .posts:after { content:"Replies" !important; }
.forumbg .row .views:after { content:"Views" !important; }

You can change the avatar position by fixing the width :
It is taking too much space, so it is pushed under the postbody.
Code:
.postprofile { width:25% !important; }

All codes should go in :
Administration panel > display > colors > css stylesheet

2. You must have installed a Spanish theme. If it is images, you will have to replace them with English images.

Is your forum hosted by Forumotion? I do not see the footer links.

Hello ^^

Nothing wrong except that your footer is really playing with fire. We cant see anymore copyright links even if they are still there.

For spanish mentions -> Number of replies and views.

Can you tell us the version of your forum ?
CSS and your profile say phpBB3, but i think it is PunBB.

The forum version is phpbb3, also thanks for mentioning the footer.

Please remove this from your CSS :
Code:
ul.linklist li.rightside, li.rightside a.copyright {
display: inline !important;
font-size: 0;
}

Hiding the footer copyrights is against the ToS

Wow. Thank you so much Ange Tuteur. All those problems were fixed.

Just one more thing. At the bottom, that "Who's Online" thing. It's shifted to the right. How to fix that?

Oh. I had no idea. I removed what you asked me to remove, but then, something else is shown at the bottom.

Add this to your CSS to fix the whois :
Code:
#i_whosonline + p, .img-whois {
  width:auto !important;
  margin:auto !important;
}

I did that. But there still seems to be something wrong. There's that gap there; between the user Owen Gray and Rosalie James at the bottom. Can that be fixed?

Also, about the footer links. Is it there? I can't seem to recognise it because it's not like before. I think it's in another language.

I do not see a gap in the users, but the legend is still bunched. Add this CSS :
Code:
p em { width:auto !important; margin:auto !important; }

The footer links look fine to me :
