Solved My Forum might be broken, also Background Image issues.

Post by Shiroforum on March 31st 2014, 11:51 pm

Hello, I've done some changes at my forum, and eventually decided to use the Restore Forum function at the Security Section.

I really don't know what happend but everything got messed up since then.

http://swordartonline.forumcreativ.com/

I really don't even know how that background is there for instance (the image), I have no CSS leading to it and absolutly there is no image uploaded, in the manage pictures section.

Is there something I can do in order to fix this? Like a Reset CSS code to normal theme etc?

Other problems that might appear: If I try changing the background, the forum changes on my phone and pc, coming back to older colors that I used, older images etc.

Hi Very Happy

Try resynching it. ACP < Generals < Configuration < Resynchronize Forum : Yes < Save

Also, please save your CSS files first in a document or something and then try copy pasting the CSS to see if it reverts back to normal. You may also clear your browser cookies and cache Smile .

Done that, and as you can see it's still the same. The background image is still there and things might break again.

Hi Very Happy

Did you try the submit button twice? I get that problem whenever I copy paste my CSS from a document, and I only have to submit the CSS twice. (Base it from the save you have now as copy pasting again will result differently)

It seems to be working now (Reseted it a few more times, deleted CSS etc)

There is one more thing which is bothering me, and it's reason I'm doing so many changes at the forum.

The forum looks perfect on the PC right now, in terms of scaling, though when I'm trying to access it from my phone, here's the result. The background somehow becomes smaller.

Hi Very Happy

Well, it is from your phone and you can't control the background unless you implement a code (It still does get smaller no matter what you do because of the computer's and phone's differences in screen sizes) to stretch it, good thing I know how ._. .

Code:
body > div.minwidth_IE > div > div {
 background-image: url(IMG URL);
 background-repeat: no-repeat;
 background-position: center center;
 background-size: /*width*/100% /*height*/100%;
}

You have to change the IMG URL to the background you have at the moment. The code above makes you look at the whole background, but as I stated above, if it looks smaller then because that is the size of the screen.

The Image looks "cropped" on the PC and it's good, the way I want it to look. But if you would look again on the Phone Image, the whole Background is rescaled, for I do not know which reason. I want it to look "cropped" just like on my PC.

The image size is 2000x4600, also I don't want to see the whole WIDTH I just want to see how much the resolution will let me, though starting from the center of the image, which it fails on the Phone but fits perfectly on the PC.

Hi Very Happy

Well, as I said, it actually depends on the size of the phone's screen. I can't do much about it no matter what code we use, even editing the mobile version wouldn't do much good.

Well, I've made it a bit better by Changing the Picture's Format to 1080p, then the scaling went fine, after I've added the folowing CSS "min-width:1024" (that's my forum's resolution).

The next thing I need to do is resolve the rest of the forum, since the resolution is like 1400/4400 (the height being the problem since the image will end after 1080pixels).

Is it possible to strech just a certain part of the image by using CSS Code? Or does anybody else have an idea? (because making the picture 1920 over 4400 doesn't work since the phone resolution will not know how to resize it, thus it will be ruined once more)

Nevermind, fixed by adding "background-color: #dddee0" in the CSS, and I don't know how it didn't override the chat one, thus is fine.

Thank you!
