Solved Re: Topics-Replies On Homepage Rectangles Design(?)

Post by Pizza Boi on April 22nd 2014, 3:41 pm

Hi Very Happy

Have you disabled highlight in your forum? Please enable it so I can find out the selectors for yours.

Sorry to disappoint you but because of your modified index_box, all the selectors have been mixed up and the only viable code to apply for them is this:

Code:
.statused span.gensmall {
background: #FFF;
border: 1px solid;
border-color: #000;
padding: 3px;
margin: 3px;
}
td.tcr span {
background: #FFF;
border: 1px solid;
border-color: #000;
padding: 3px;
margin: 3px;
}

It will look terribad, I'm just saying, but since your index_box has lost so many declarations, that is the best that can be done for it.

Hi Very Happy

Well, when you look at your index_box, it is pretty messed up. Try declaring a name for them so you can change it in the CSS.

Hi Very Happy

.gensmall is too general, add an additional ID (In the same span code) and then use that ID for the style input.

Hi Very Happy

Once again, look closely, both are enclosed in the SAME declaration, try dividing it. Say, something like:

Code:
<span class="gensmall" id="dis">{TOPIC}</span><span class="gensmall" id="dat">{DATE}</span>

The {TOPIC} and {DATE} are just example taken from what I know of the template. Use the real name, also remember that you have to use gensmall for the second one.

Hi Very Happy

Actually, in the code I inputted as 'dat', I used this for the padding to even things out:

Code:
padding-left: 14px;
padding-right: 14px;

Edit: What looks like in the forum I used your index_box in: http://tfpbl.forumtl.com/

Hi Very Happy

Lol, it's your choice, you can even apply box-shadow in it; however, you should remember that not all browsers (Especially outdated) support CSS designs, like for example, you'll use filter:alpha which can work for another browser and what not.

Overall, it's your choice to do so.

Thank you, Ange for teaching me this:rose:looveshakng2EmbarassedI love you

Add some box shadow to make them look even better and a white background. They will look like buttons. That will look pretty awesome.

Code:
 box-shadow:0 0 12px #1f537b;
background:#fafafa;

Hi Very Happy

You should take note that some browsers won't be able to support box-shadow (Outdated ones) so you should declare moz or web kit since they are 2 vendor codes Smile. Check W3 schools to check which vendor works for which Smile. Just adding it up just in case someone from your forum doesn't see the effect~

@Joker: I think I ran out of pizza's, buy one for meI love you.

Nah, I'm just kidding :rose: ~

The pizza's here! That'd be $2.99 Wink .

No problem~
