Add the member to the group in the administration panel.

Can members subscribe to this group?  If yes then they can unsubscribe from it.

Please post your forum's link.  Also please post a screenshot of the set up page (administration panel) for that group.

Hello,

First, make sure that you're adding a member to the group here:
AP > Users & Groups >  Group Administration > Click the specified group:
Add a member : Make sure to type the username correctly here
> Add member

If it still doesn't work, can you give us a detail of what's happening after you try to add the member? Are you getting an error message? or the page just refreshes itself back to homepage? etc.

Then make sure you're group is not hidden so it will be colorized in the legend:
Group  Administration > Modify the specified group  Edit :
Group Status : Set to 'Closed'
> Save

I have the members group on my forum as open and sometimes names keep dropping off list by themselves and I have to keep re-adding.

Hello ^^

As SLGray told you before, members can unsubscribe from their usergroup.

To avoid this :
ACP > Display > Templates > Groups >  Edit  groupcp_info_body

Remove
Code:
         <!-- BEGIN switch_unsubscribe_group_input -->
            <input class="mainoption" type="submit" name="unsub" value="{L_UNSUBSCRIBE_GROUP}" />
         <!-- END switch_unsubscribe_group_input -->
Save and publish  Add

Yes, but, the users who keep dropping off list, have not been on forum since they registered. So I don't know why their names keep dropping.

Are they also being removed from the forum?
If so your forum may be set to deactivate or delete users that haven't been active.
See; Administration panel/Users & Groups/Users/Handle Users
On right in Management section you can see if that is what's going on..

They have not been removed from forum. Also the user group somehow changes itself from open to hidden and I have to keep changing it back to open from admin panel. I click save but it still changes itself sometimes to hidden.

Hello,

I've took a look at your forum and you seem to have 2 groups. Which are "Administrators" & "Members" which look and seem to be working fine. I see your using "Internet Explorer" What Windows are you using?

If your using windows 7 here is a little guide on: How to take a screen shot using Windows 7

1. Go to your desktop

2. Hover your mouse onto "Start"

3. You shall have a little box with loads of options

4. At the bottom of the box should be a "Search Box"

5. Enter "Snipping Tools"

6. A icon should appear with a pair of scissors on.

7. Click it,

8. Get your screen set where you want the image.

9. Press "New"

10. Drag where you want your image and leave go

11. Your screen shot has been taken

12. Click Save

13. Save to your index files > Click "My Documents" > Scroll down to "My Pictures"

14. "Save"

15. Go to your web browser and enter "TinyPic"  http://tinypic.com

16. Select Upload Image

17. "From Files"

18. Find your image and then click "Open"

19. Press Upload

20. Collect your link

And there you are!

So when you try to save the settings, it reverts back to the option 'hidden' even after saving it as 'closed'? Try clearing cache and cookies and try again. Let's see if this could be a browser or technical problem.
