In progress Forum Permission Doesn't have Mod Controls

Post by Guardian-Angel on April 26th 2014, 10:21 pm

Hi everyone

I have one Forum for some reason, doesn't have Mod control ability. They don't have the mod quick tools, or the ability to check IP addresses.

I can't figure out why. Can someone direct me to the correct steps to see what I'm missing.

Thanks

Administration Panel > General > Forum > Categories & Forums
Press the permissions image for the section in question. Make should you are in the advanced mode for the permissions.

That worked, but now there is another thread where users all of a sudden can't reply to a post.

Is there a way I can set permssions to all the threads instead of checking one by one? I'm not sure why this is changing, I'm not doing anything in the AP.

Hello,

You can't set permissions for threads, only for forums, make sure you check the permissions Perms:
AP > General > Categories & Forums:
Write and Reply : Should be checked for members
> Save

Also, check if the questionable topic is locked, only admins and mods can post in a locked topic.

Ok thanks. Couple more questions. What exactly does this mean?

Write topics or messages

Create a topic and?

Also, when creating a new topic, I'm realizing that we should go AP > General > Categories & Forums and set the permissions as it doesn't automatically set the mod's? I created a new topic last night, and that topic didn't have mod controls.

Thanks
