Disappearing Reply Posts
First topic message reminder :
hyperparathyroid.forumotion.co.uk
A number of our forum members have experienced disappearance of their replies when they click the "send" button.
We have members using PCs, iPads and various tablets, so the problem is not specific to a particular device or browser.
I have noticed a number of previous reports of this on the Forumotion help forum, but these topics have been locked without any real explanation or investigation of the problem.
Although the problem appears to be random, I lost a reply today when another member was posting a reply to the same topic, so maybe there is a clue here?
Nevertheless, we have lost, something like 10 replies over the last few weeks, from different members, on different devices.
This is really very frustration and members are getting annoyed.

Please do not double post, postings must be separated by a 24 hours period within the support forum. Instead please use the edit button.
Secondly all things support wise should be dealt with in the thread and not via private message.

There is at least one other topi, where two members lost their posts, but I cannot find it for now.
It also happened to me once in the early days of the forum,
As I already mentioned to Buttercup, there was no error message. From memory, I was just taken to the topic (without my reply)

Re: Disappearing Reply Posts
Hello.
I'm so sorry but I cannot do no more than I can I think buttercup may need to get involved and notify the technical team as this is a big problem. It looks like your forum has been marked a "In progress" so the team are working on what you and your forum is experiencing. This is weird how this issue cannot be re-created. You may need to update this thread when a member experience this problem you may need to state the date so we can keep a good track of what's happening. This may be a big on your forum. We don't know but the team is working on this. Please be patient and make sure you update this topic every time a member on your forum experience this issue and state the date.
Why state the date?
Because this can be a big help to the team and help.
Thanks
P.s I will keep a track book of what's going on and please make sure to update this topic.

All that I did was to post the dates and times that you requested.

Hi, can you try to do this?
Go to Admin Panel > General > Forum > Configuration > Misc Options (Scroll down and find this section):
- Resynchronize your Forum: (Check the box then press Save)
Then try to check the topics having the issues.

Tommy Lee, there is no need to remind the member about this. Not only is this a moderator's job, but you have also confused the member into thinking that they have bumped. Please refrain from making such comments, thank you.

Re: Disappearing Reply Posts
Well, this is very interesting.
I just wrote a reply (10:15 UK time, 25th May) in the Topic: http://hyperparathyroid.forumotion.co.uk/t146-post-disappeared
to inform members of the resynchronisation and to let me know if any new disappearing replies.
When I clicked Send I was taken to a blank page.
The URL for this blank page is: http://hyperparathyroid.forumotion.co.uk/post
This is different to the previously occasion when I had a disappearing reply, when I was taken to the topic (minus my reply).

Re: Disappearing Reply Posts
It usually does the above when you've lost internet for a few seconds which disrupts the communication between your device and sending to the server so that's what you'd be shown that blank page.

I did not lose Internet for a few seconds, although i have no way of knowing if the Forum server connection was lost.
This does mot explain why the URL of the link was incorrect.

It does, when you hit the send button, the URL is automatically changed to the one above and then is redirected to the thread URL.

OK.
Anyway, this is not the same problem as experienced by our members (and myself previously).
They remain on the topic but their reply is missing.
