Solved Width of Thread

Post by AntaresDecerto on May 4th 2014, 8:10 am

The width of the rest of the forum works great. I can resize the window and everything resizes nicely. However, whenever I am looking at a thread inside a topic, the width remains fixed. When I resize the window, a horizontal scroll bar appears. How can I resize the thread width so that it works like the rest of the forum?

Hi Very Happy

Well, for post, you can do something like this: AP < Display < Stylesheet:

Code:
div.post {
width: 1200px;
}

Note: You have to increase the width of the widget area if you're using widget since the thread will be cut off by then.

The only CSS Stylesheet that I have ever been able to find is through the "colors" section. I tried adding that to it, but there doesn't seem to be any difference.

Add it to the top of the stylesheet.

Solved Re: Width of Thread

Post by AntaresDecerto on May 5th 2014, 8:35 am

Unfortunately, no effect. I don't get it. This forum auto-sizes to the window just fine. Just to clarify, I am changing the CSS Stylesheet found at AP > Display > Pictures and Colors > Colors > CSS Stylesheet. Is there any other stylesheet that I should be editing? It doesn't seem to be an issue with any of the other CSS. I have deleted it and only had that script with still no effect. I have save the forum, re-synched it... ANy other ideas?

Hello,

Guys, when you set your width or height values in pixels then it will not resize to the current screen resolution. You should use percentages as they adjust the fit the current space available in an element or window.

Please try this :
Code:
.post { width:95%; }

Adjust the value as needed. Wink

Yeah, I've been experimenting using percentages, I knew that in the end, that would be what I wanted anyway, but I figured that if I could get it to change AT ALL that would be progress. It doesn't work. There is something weird about this theme: http://demo.nicetheme.com/t2-topic-vvvvv?theme_id=183984.

I'm an idiot. After looking around, there appears to be only one thread affected by this problem. After fooling around  bit, I noticed that it was the images used. SO I simply put in an auto-re-size. Sorry for wasting your time.
