Hello

Some users have a java ads while connecting on their forum.

This problem is not coming from our service but our technicians try to find a solution.

In order to help them could you please post:

I'm the forum owner that was having a lot of problems with being redirected to fake Java or Flash updates, or to other spammy sites.

I was getting redirected several times per hour when browsing around my forum.

Unfortunately I was unable to get Buttercup to recognize that the Forumotion ads were the cause. I finally had to give up and buy credits to turn off the ads on my site.

It has now been a day and a half since I turned off the Forumotion ads and I am happy to report that I have not been redirected even once since I did that. And my users have stopped complaining about it too.

Cause found. Forumotion ads eliminated. Problem solved.

Hello

First of all you should not that as all free website on the net (Facebook for example) we earn money thank to ads displayed on Forums. All our options are free few of them like ads removed. So, we cannot turn off Forumotion ads to solve java issue. That is not possible.
This java ads is not Forumotion ads. But, I have never said there is no a link with ours. Our technicians are working on it to find a solution.
I understand the trouble it can occur & be sure our technicians are doing their best to solve this annoying problem.

Just a little Note to let you know about buttercup if you have an Ad's blocker on firefox This then stops all your ad's in the forums and then this also stops the Java ad's popping up on my forum i have the old settings so you can block ad's when logged in and then i do not get them but on my other forum i help out as admin on no matter if I'm logged in or not i always get it on every refresh so i think this is coming from Google ad's it's self.

The problem is getting really bad now and it don't make FM look good at all when your took from your forum to a different page or site and not the site you want.

maybe the tech staff could talk to google about there ad's and limit the ad's to just guests until this is fixed. #913 Java ads Mouais
