In progress How to duplicate the navigation bar

Post by Richardr on May 18th 2014, 10:35 am

On our forum we would like to display a second fully functional navigation bar at the bottom of the portal page only (not anywhere else). How can this be created?

Thanks.

You mean the menu bar on your forum? Please show a screenshot of what you want!

There is a navigation widget that you can add to the bottom of your portal.

Thanks, but that doesn't include messages, which is essential. How can messages be incorporated? Is there some special code somewhere that we can copy?

You can make a customized widget and add the links for the navigation menu.

The crucial requirement is that upon receipt of a message the message icon should flash. How is that effect achieved with a customized widget?

The message icon is unique in that it uses two images: one static and another to replace it upon receipt of a message. That's the difficulty that the instructions thus far haven't unfortunately resolved.
