Facebook Welcome Message Hack?
I have a weird problem that I can't seem to figure out. We have a welcome message on our forum (as most forums do). When I log into the admin panel, it shows the welcome message as I wanted it (although the formatting is very different). However, users aren't receiving this message. Instead, they get a facebook-related message.
Here's what they used to get (how it should be formatted):
Here's how it looks in Admin with the formatting off:
Here's what they get:
Is there some hack/virus that is going around? Nothing else seems off. None of my other Admins did it-- and with the message appearing as I'd want in the admin panel, I wouldn't think it was them. I'm a little stumped...Help?

This does seem odd.
Can I ask if you've got Facebook Connect enabled on your forum? (Found ACP --> Modules --> Facebook Connect)
Could you also provide your forum link?

I do have connect enabled. I guess I would assume it's from that, right? But the better question is why? LOL.

Re: Facebook Welcome Message Hack?
I registered on your forum via facebook and I got the welcome message that mentions facebook. I'm going to assume here its perhaps part of the deal when you have facebook login enabled.
Its not a hack so don't worry. Like I said its perhaps something FM and Facebook have worked out or it could be part of the T&C's of using facebook login.
I've also sent you a private message on here with a request.

Re: Facebook Welcome Message Hack?
Hi, i really can't see the date on the image clearly, so let me just ask this thing:
- Before you edit the Private message for new members on your Admin Panel, is that "facebook" related thing written on it?
- If yes, then could the message you seen on your sentbox probably an old message?
- If no, then probably this is a bug. Let us wait for other staff to confirm this.

I don't believe it is a bug, I believe it is part of the using the facebook connect.

My bad, yeah, it is actually.
Anyway, go to Admin Panel > Modules > Social Networks > Facebook Connect:
- Activate friends invitation message :
Hello Guest,
Welcome on this forum, feel free to invite your facebook friends to participate!
Regards,
Admin
Just change the message, things will be well.
