Solved Coloring Hidden Group Members?

Post by Yous000 on May 26th 2014, 2:40 pm

I want to have a hidden group on my forum. But it appears I can't have these users colored. How can I make hidden group users have a colored username?

Hello ^^

In addition to the hidden group, just place your members in a closed or open group.

If it was possible to get the color of a hidden group, that group would not remain hidden.

I would do a closed group but I don't want tons of groups showing on the bottom which is the main reason I choose hidden.

So I guess what I am looking for is a way to either color hidden group members or make certain closed groups not appear on the bottom.

You can edit your template index_body and replace
Code:
{GROUP_LEGEND}
with the code you want to appear.

You can also remove a group from that legend through CSS
Code:
b a.gensmall[href="/gxx-name-of-group"] { display: none;}

For example, on this forum we would use
Code:
b a.gensmall[href="/g40-forumotion-managers"] { display: none;}
to get rid of displaying [ Forumotion Managers ]
Please note that code wont remove brackets [ ].

umm hidden group MEANS that people will not be able to see them or differentiate them and hence they don't have colours.

I think you can do 1 thing (try one thing) :
Make it a closed group.
now get the link of your group (example "/g1-admins")
then put this in CSS
Code:

a[href="/g1-admins"] {
display: none;
}

is this doesn't work, then you can color each member's name manually..
like in that hidden group is /u1, /u22 and /u56, then add this in css
Code:

a[href="/u1"], a[href="/u22"], a[href="/u56"] {
color: red;
}
(change red to whatever you want)

There's another way to remove the [ ]. Go to your index_body and find this part:
Code:
<td class="row1"><span class="gensmall">{LEGEND}&nbsp;:&nbsp;{GROUP_LEGEND}</span></td>

Replace it with this one:
Code:
<td class="row1"><span class="gensmall" style="font-size: 0px;"><span class="legend">{LEGEND}&nbsp;:&nbsp;</span><span class="group-legends">{GROUP_LEGEND}</span></span></td>

Add this to your CSS now:
Code:
.legend {
font-size: 10px !important;
}
.group-legends a {
margin-right: 10px;
}

Notes:
- If you want to remove a group legends, add this:
Code:
.group-legends a[href="/LINKOFGROUP"] {
display: none;
}

- If you want to add a comma after ever legends, add this:
Code:
.group-legends a[href="/LINKOFGROUP"]:after {
content: ","
text-shadow: none !important;
color: white !important;
}

Neither solution worked for me. The one you posted Mark only removed the [ ]'s.

Maybe the initial thread was confusing. I am only trying to make a group that does not show up in the legend. Everywhere else on the forum is fine just not in the legend.

You need to set the group into closed group instead of close group, afterwards, do the steps with the codes provided in my previous post to remove the group you don't want to be displayed on the Legends (that can be found on the statistics) Smile

Have you tried the manual color method I posted? I'm pretty sure it works 100%..
