In progress Topic lastposters

Post by Mr Rockeye on June 12th 2014, 10:52 pm

So I have added the tutorial with the images next to the 'last post'-section.
But now the following problem occurs:
The informative text displays under the mini avatar and it has to be next to it.
Picture of what I mean, the red box is were the informative text is right now and the yellow box is where the informative text should be:

When I visited your forum, I did not see what you see in your screenshot.

Hello Mr Rockeye,

This is caused by your screen size. When you have a smaller screen all the elements on the page should render smaller. When there is not enough space inside an element the text will wrap, or break to the next line. This is normal behavior for browsers. If you were to view this on larger displays you would not see the text breaking to the next line.

Your best solution is to increase the width of your lastposts element.

Yea I tried on chrome & firefox.
I have always have the browsers on Max format.
I have tried to edit the width of the lastpost section (with CSS) but I ended up with having the info below the title of the topic.

Hello,

As far as i can see, the avatars are displayable correctly.

The only thing i could tell you is that your screen resolution is the one causing the problem.
As Ange said, to fix it try enlarging your last post column so no problems appear.

Regards.

Hi!
Have a lok on my second picture. There are 6 rows on it. The 3rd and the 4th row are displayed as I want. The others are not. Why is that? This is not the question of the screen resolution.

Problematic case

Non problematic case

Both cases are with the same screen resolution.

What I ment was the sub-forums. If you go there you'll notice the problem.

This depends on the amount of characters used in the Date and Time. If it is a lot it may exceed the lastpost width and break to the next line. If it is less characters (lesser than lastpost width) it will not break to the next line.

Hi, Ange! Hello

This, what you say, sound very logical. But, have a look (again) on this picture:

The number of characters is the same in both rows, but the representation is not the same. What can be the reason for this? This is the detail from the subforum.

P.S. The data layout in the "last post" cell is different on the index page and in the subforums (for topics). Is it possible to make this layout everywhere like in the index page?

You must also take into account the width of those characters. It can be the same amount of characters, but some characters have a larger width, or kern than the others.

You should be able to fix it by adjusting the width, try adding this :
Display > Colors > CSS
Code:
.forumbg .lastpost { width:25% }

Hi, Ange!

You are right, again. Smile
The CSS works fine, thank you a lot.

I wish you nice day.
