Domain Name Problems
Domain Name Problems
Hello,
http://hexgalaxymc.forumotion.net/
Tell me what happens when you go to:
http://hexgalaxymc.net/
I've purchased my own domain name from GoDaddy. It works for me, I've forwarded it to my forum on GoDaddy so when I do http://hexgalaxymc.net/ it goes to http://hexgalaxymc.forumotion.net/ However, it shows http://hexgalaxymc.forumotion.net/ in the URL bar. I went to Admin Panel > General > Forum Address. I put in the address that was forwarded to my forum. However, it said that it was forwarded in an error box.
Problem 1: For me, it forwards to http://hexgalaxymc.forumotion.net/ however shows http://hexgalaxymc.forumotion.net/ instead of http://hexgalaxymc.net/ in the URL bar. Also, I tried to set the domain name in the Forum Address setting in the Admin Panel, it said no domain was forwarded to it.
Problem 2: I asked a friend to connect to the domain name. On their computer, it said the website didn't exist. On their iPhone, it forwarded them to GoDaddy saying the domain existed, but was not activated. I even saw in my Domain settings, it said the domain was active.
I am using GoDaddy to manage my domain name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello
For us, you did not buy the domaine name via Forumotion. The domain name is not registered into our database. Could you please provide more information ?
Thanks in advance

Re: Domain Name Problems
Sorry, SLGray.
Buttercup, I have purchased my domain name through GoDaddy. I can manage CNAME records, and forward it to other sites. I have done both, (at different times) and went to Admin Panel > General > Forum Address. I clicked on the little tab to use my own domain name, and I put in my domain name. It then showed the error box saying that domain did not have a CNAME record directing to the forum. However, it did. I have purchased my domain name through GoDaddy, and so far there is nothing of use to it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Domain Name Problems
Hello
Unfortunatly we can do nothing as the domain name is not registered via Forumotion. I think you missed something while configuring your CNAME.
