Solved Problem with Java Code that makes disappear the sidebar ( Invision)

Post by la valle dell'eco on June 26th 2014, 10:15 am

Hello everyone, I have another problem with another forum that I administrate.
I found a Java Code that makes disappear the sidebar. It works properly, but is this bad effect on the index.

The sidebar overlaps the forum.
( on all pages)

This is Java code
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
if (location.pathname !== '/') {
$('#right').css('height','0px');
$('#content').css('margin-right','0px');
}
});

How can I fix the problem?

I using Invision

Hello,

Do you want the widgets on the right not to appear on the index?

This sidebar should be visible on the index and disappear when you open the forum. Instead, it works correctly (it disappears if you open the forum) but when it is visible overlaps the index.

Here's how it should be

instead is so

I'm sorry if I have not explained well

Search this on your CSS:

Code:
#content-container div#right

And paste the properties of that selector here so we can inspect. What I mean is this:

Code:
#content-container div#right {
 /*Properties here*/
}

Hello,

No, I requested if you can provide the code of that selector by searching this:
Code:
#content-container div#right

So we can inspect the code, because I can't see the widgets on the forum as of now.

Sorry. I've taken to not disturb the users.
Here is the code.

Code:
#content-container div#right {
    float: right;
    overflow: hidden;
    width: 180px;
}

Try removing the overflow: hidden property, try either one of this codes(replace the current one):

Code:
#content-container div#right {
  float: right;
  width: 180px;
}

or:

Code:
#content-container div#right {
  float: right;
  overflow: auto !important;
  width: 180px;
}
