Solved Removing blank spaces on forum categories

Post by Savoury Muffin on June 29th 2014, 5:10 pm

I would like to remove the little white areas underneath the pictures for the "den site" and the "forest" If possible.

This is the code I am using.

Code:
<style type="text/css">
#Densitetext { width: 430px; height: 70px; background: #BBD2E6; color: #808080; font-family: arial; font-size: 9px; text-transform: lowercase; line-height: 100%; text-align: justify; padding: 10px; opacity: 0; -webkit-transition:all 0.7s ease-in-out; -moz-transition:all 0.7s ease-in-out; -o-transition:all 0.7s ease-in-out; -ms-transition:all 0.7s ease-in-out; transition:all 0.7s ease-in-out; }
#Densitetext:hover { opacity: 1; }

</style>
<div style="width: 450px; height: 90px; background-image:url(http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/180/c/6/the_den_by_savoury_muffin-d7og9ne.png);">

 <div id="Densitetext">

 <div style="Width: 100%; height: 70px; overflow: auto">

 <div style="padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px">
 words will go here description description
 </div>

 </div>

 </div>

</div>

Hi Very Happy

Try reducing the spaces of how you wrote the code.

Do you mean the spaces in between the div tags? Because they're added in automatically every time I hit save.

Hello Savoury Muffin,

Edit the descriptions in Source Code mode and check to see if there are any line breaks used; i.e. the <br> tag. I noticed there is one after your div with the background image :

I can definitely see the <br> tags in the code and I know how to get rid of them. My only question is, how does one save the changes made in the source code?

After removing the <br />, press the save button. When you create a new forum or edit an old forum, the <br /> is added to the forum's description.

I think I must be doing something wrong, where are you accessing this source code from in the first place?

To access source code mode click the sheet of paper. If it's not highlighted in white you're in WYSIWYG mode. WYSIWYG will not display HTML tags and such.

Ah, I understand now xD

This is what I'm seeing when I look at that code; http://i39.servimg.com/u/f39/18/00/84/67/210.png only there's no <br> there.

Even though there clearly is a <br> tag there when I look at the forum through the "View page source" option you get when right clicking a site: http://i39.servimg.com/u/f39/18/00/84/67/10.png

So did you remove the <br /> and press the save button?

There isn't a <br> in the code I'm using. Where the <br> is coming from I'm not sure.

If you cannot find it in your description, then you can hide it by CSS.
Code:
.hierarchy + .genmed div + br { display:none; }
