Solved Question involving Permissions.

Post by RazielBach August 2nd 2014, 12:14 pm

I believe this is in the proper section, but if it is not I apologize in advance.

I had a quick question about permissions. Is it at all possible to make it so that no one but specific moderators for a forum section can read a post AND ONLY the person who posted it?

So for example: Person 1 creates a topic, admins, and mods can read it, but person 2 won't even see the topic there.

I have been fiddling around with it for a few and I haven't been able to make any progress on doing something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Raziel

Hello RazielBach,

Unfortunately there are no permissions for this. Either a single group of members can view and post, or no one can. You could perhaps have users send these "Topics" by PM to you, and you open a topic in a forum which only Staff ( moderator / admin ) can see for the member submitted topic, but I don't think that is how you want to do it.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Unfortunately, that is not the way I was looking to do it. However, it will have to do if I'm unable to do it the way I mentioned.

You're welcome.

You can also use the groups system to create permissions for each individual member, however, this would be tedious and cause you to make multiple forums for each member with what you want to do. If there where "Topic Permissions" this would be possible. You can always suggest features for your forums, just remember to read the guidelines.  Wink
