Implications of forum name change.

Hi!   

I have a question about changing the name of my forum. 

This would be a simple one word change.  My question is, what are all the technical implications of this change? 
Would the forum address automatically change, too? 
Or would I change that manually?  

If I load a new banner (logo), just as an experiment, would that affect my members?  Would their bookmarks still work? 

I realize I would have to make a new favicon, but aside from graphic changes to coordinate with the new name, what other technical changes would I (or the support staff) have to make?

Hi if you change the name of your forum and the Domain name then yes all bookmarkes will have to be changed to all your members.

If you just change the name and not your Domain name then the old links will stay the same and can still be used.

To change the site name you will need to follow step one
To change the URL of your Site your have to follow step Two.

ACP General Tab
   Forum promotion Search engines Homepage title : Your new Name goes here Save ......

Step Two.
ACP General Tab
   Forum Forum Address "Quick update" Quick update of your forum name : Hit the Edit the link button enter your new address then Save.....

If you Do not have a lot of members the best way is to Send them a PM and news letter Note that not all members will have there Profiles set to getting a news letter thou. so the best thing to do is send the news letter first then A PM then keep your old address for say a week then change it. and make a new thread on your site saying you will be changing it so to mark there profiles to getting the news letters so there kept upto date on the change.
