Solved Add image to "Who is Online?" header bar.

Post by Castellana on August 12th 2014, 19:18

Hello! Hello

Is there a way to add an image to the "Who is Online" header bar?

That is, the long bar with the words "Who is Online?" that spans the forum page.

Thanks!

Hi Msdeal,

It is okay to help, however, providing erroneous answers to users questions will not help with solving their topic. In the future please refrain from posting if you do not know the answer.

Thanks

Hello Castellana,

Go to Administration Panel > Display > General > Templates > index_body

Find :
Code:
<tr>
 <td class="catHead" colspan="2" height="28">
 <!-- BEGIN switch_viewonline_link -->
 <span class="cattitle"><a class="cattitle" href="{U_VIEWONLINE}" rel="nofollow">{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}</a></span>
 <!-- END switch_viewonline_link -->

 <!-- BEGIN switch_viewonline_nolink -->
 <span class="cattitle">{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}</span>
 <!-- END switch_viewonline_nolink -->
 </td>
 </tr>

Replace by :
Code:
<tr>
 <td class="catHead whois" colspan="2" height="28">
 <!-- BEGIN switch_viewonline_link -->
 <span class="cattitle"><a class="cattitle" href="{U_VIEWONLINE}" rel="nofollow">{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}</a></span>
 <!-- END switch_viewonline_link -->

 <!-- BEGIN switch_viewonline_nolink -->
 <span class="cattitle">{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}</span>
 <!-- END switch_viewonline_nolink -->
 </td>
 </tr>

Save and publish.

After this you can add a background to it with CSS :
Administration Panel > Display > Colors > CSS stylesheet

Add the following rule and submit
Code:
.catHead.whois { background:url(/myimg.gif) }

Just replace /myimg.gif by the URL of your image.

Thanks, Ange!

Just one more question before I try this code - will your code above affect in any way the code I added, a while back, which changes the color of the words and centers the phrase "Who is online?"

Thanks!

If that portion of the template is modified, yes it will.

If that is the case, just replace the beginning of the cell :
Code:
<td class="catHead" colspan="2" height="28">

With this :
Code:
<td class="catHead whois" colspan="2" height="28">

When you find it. All you need to do is add the class "whois"

Thanks!

Everything looks as I wanted it to, thank you so much!

For the record, I changed "cathead" to "cathead whois" in the templates, and published it.
Then, I added your css. My image is jpeg, not gif, but it seems to be working.

Thanks again!
Very Happy
