Solved How do display threads instead of categories or forums

Post by Synapse11 on August 21st 2014, 2:36 pm

Hi there,

My particular forum users are looking for a single homepage with a list of threads rather than a set of forums or categories. It is possible to do this through Invision? I would either like to:

A) Change the hierarchy so there is no hierarchy, just 1 forum which displays on the homepage a list of threads

B) Redirect the homepage to the forum URL so it appears as though this is the only forum

Any ideas how to do this?

yes actuall there is a way, bnasically what you can do is changing your forum into a blog, dont worry, if you regret this decision, you can allways change back to forum setup again without loosing any of your posts.

here is how you do it: goto admin panel, then click on modules at nav bar on top.
then u see in the widgets at left side and look for the blog tab, click configure blog and check the box that says "activate blog"

I wanted to do same thing, but blog didnt help me, actually I didnt see diffrence between blog and forum.
There is no option to post thread on homepage niether I can move one to homepage. How can I make that happen?

Why can't I just redirect:

http://www.diprepublic.net/

tohttp://www.diprepublic.net/f6-anything-goes

This is really what I can see as the quick solution.

I think the answer is within index_box:

<!-- BEGIN catrow -->
<!-- BEGIN tablehead
-->
<div class="borderwrap">
<div
class="maintitle floated
clearfix">
{catrow.tablehead.L_FORUM}
<div
class="contract" id="b{catrow.tablehead.ID}"
onclick="toggleCategory('{catrow.tablehead.ID}');">

</div>
</div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"
id="{catrow.tablehead.ID}" class="ipbtable
index-box">

When you post a code, please use the BBCode code tags.

Try this:

AP > Display > Homepage > Structure & Hierarchy
Play around with the different options.

So basically you want just topics on the homepage? I really do not know if that is possible.

It is possible to do the redirect I described above?

So http://www.diprepublic.net/f6-anything-goes is the home page.

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://www.diprepublic.net/f6-anything-goes" />
on the homepage index
