Solved Make images Un-Clickable.

Post by Cell Tennyson on Sat Oct 04 2014, 09:44

Hi there everyone.

My problem is that some of the important images (like awards and country flags) in my forums are clickable. This means members can open those images in new tab or window and thus get the image location and use them for their purpose. See below.

Can this feature be disabled as i see in some websites images are unclickable and one cannot open those images in new tab or anything like that. If someone would tell me how to disable this feature i would be thankful..

Under <head> at the top add

this codes

Code:

<script language=JavaScript> var message="Function Disabled!"; function clickIE4(){ if (event.button==2){ alert(message); return false; } } function clickNS4(e){ if (document.layers||document.getElementById&&!document.all){ if (e.which==2||e.which==3){ alert(message); return false; } } } if (document.layers){ document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN); document.onmousedown=clickNS4; } else if (document.all&&!document.getElementById){ document.onmousedown=clickIE4; } document.oncontextmenu=new Function("alert(message);return false") </script>

Solved Re: Make images Un-Clickable.

This works but its different from the one i wanted.

In one of my friends Forums its not like that. When i click/ Hover on images of his forums the mouse pointer itself does not change into a hand as it becomes when in my forums as i hover or click on images..

Is this because of image Tag?? I use normal image url and not BB Code or HTML tag of uploaded image.. I hope you are getting my point.

Even if you use a JavaScript, people can still get the information, because browsers can deactivate JavaScripts. Also people can look at the page source.

So how do i make those images unclickable i've seen other people doing this in their signature images. They make cool signature and they make it un-clickable.

Its not that they do it using some java scrpit or something but they do it by images HTML tag or something like that. I don't know how exactly its done.

To post just an image you use:
Code:
[img]image URL[/img]

Thanks Mr SL Gray.. You understood my problem and solved it.. Smile Very Happy :wouhou:

Code:
[img]image URL[/img]

This is the code that does not let mouse pointer become a Hand when hovering or clicking on an image and prevents opening that image in its uploaded site..

When people make images clickable they use this:

Code:
[url=URL_HERE][img]IMAGE_LINK_HERE[/img][/url]

So to not have a redirecting image, simply don't add the URL bbcode.
