Solved background image fixing & categor font color issue. Solved

Post by RiotMalevolent on October 18th 2014, 8:26 pm

The background image keeps splitting and repeating no matter how huge I make the resolution.
If I scrolldown far enough, the image will still splits. I also suspect that the image repeats if someone is using a very large resolution, but I have no way to test this.
I also notice that the image splits when I zoom out slightly.

So far, I've been using images with resoultions that greatly exceed 2K in both their X and Y values. If I use a more vertical image, then it will repeat on the horizontal axis. If I use a colossal sized wide image, then it will repeat sooner when scrolling down. Currently I'm using a laptop with a 1600x900 screen, but many desktop users have a display even larger than mine, and I want the forum to be visually appealing to them as well.

When the image repeats, it makes a very unsightly seem.

Is it possible to make it so that the only the forum and not the background image moves when one scrolls up and down?
Is it possible to to keep the background image fixed and not repeating?

How did you add the banner? If you added the image's URL, there should have been a box to check that says "Fixed Background."

AP > Display > Colors & Pictures > Pics Management
Advanced Mode
First Tab
Look for background image. The box should be under the box where you enter the image's URL.

See, another problem I have is that the category text appears light grey and it is very hard to see.
Although, the link text is blue and the main text is black.

The hexcode color of the category text is:DEDFDF
I found this out by copying and pasting a screenshot of the forum into photoshop, and then I examined the colors.

In the AdminCP under Display>Colors, I couldn't find where to change the color of the category text. Infact, the colorDEDFDF is not seen anywhere in the colors editor.

Check your CSS style sheet for this:
Code:
.main .main-foot, .main .main-head {
  color: #DEDFDF;
}
If it is not there, add it and change #DEDFDF.

Is the comma supposed to be there after main-foot?

Of course, it separates it from the next selector set. You can have multiple selectors in a single rule.
Code:
.class1, .class2, element1, element2, #id1, #id2 { /* properties.. */ }
