Helper Name Color

Post by _Twisted_Mods_ on October 27th 2014, 3:04 pm

in my opinion i think the helpers should get there own spot in the legend along with a group colored name if they spend that much time helping people on forumotion they should be appreciated for it .. i know they get the rank title but just doesnt seem like enough to me but hey might just be me lets find out

I believe a rank is enough, as the group color highlights who actual staff members are. It would be misleading to some members, because they might think that they are staff.

I voted no. We give out the Helper rank to members as a 'thank you' for their contributions. In other words, it is already a reward. A group is not necessary and could potentially confuse members who might think that Helpers are staff members when in fact they are not.

I voted no because the Support Moderators on here are known as Helpers on other staff forums and having two different kinds of actual "Helper" ranks in the legends will get confusing fast. Dx I'd rather not complicate the forum coordination going on.

Voted no because groups are just for access to certain forums and I don't think they have any forums solely for helpers.

I vote No we bring this up before and we said it will only make things harder for the members as A helper is a helper and not staff.  we use that part of the forum so members know what staff ranks we have. over the years we have had other ranks down there and they got took off as they was not needed.

While I understand where your suggestion is coming from, I think a rank is sufficient, a group colour would be awfully misleading.

Sorry, but my vote is no, too.  The rank is enough of a reward.

Question.. what would be the big deal if users considered helpers as staff?

its not like helpers have modding ability or able to do anything and if they where sent something via pm that should have goto staff they should have common sense enough to forward it to the correct place or guide that person to the right person to send the msg to.. if your worried about them taking avantage of it and trying to do something crazy like logging into someone else's forum to help them as admin because a user thinks they are staff and they steal there stuff... it would be no different from a staff member doing it because they would be risking the same thing all of there hard work to get to the rank they are at in my opinion staff is no more trust worthy then a helper everyone is a volunteer

You do realize that there are technicians on this forum. If you're going to give Helpers a usergroup, might as well give Technicians a usergroup (and a rank title). Still, my vote is nay.

(No offense intended)

The staff and I have decided that a group is not necessary for helpers, therefore this suggestion is refused. Thank you.
