Solved Removing Navbar Buttons from Login Page

Post by Blackstingray1967 on November 8th 2014, 6:21 am

I have customized the look of the nav buttons on the forum and want to limit the nav buttons on the login page to REGISTER and LOGIN only. Right now I have the buttons HOME, CHAT, REGISTER, LOGIN buttons appearing on the login page. I've been able to removea majority of the buttonsusing the forum options but I cannot locate where I can make the changes to the login page to get rid of these two nav buttons.

Any suggestions please!

Thanks.

Hello Blackstingray1967,

There isn't specific options for preventing nav buttons from displaying on a certain page, but it's possible with a bit of JavaScript. Could you provide the URL of your forum ?

Solved Removing Nav Bar Buttons on Login Page

Post by Blackstingray1967 on November 8th 2014, 6:54 am

Thanks for the quick reply.

forum: riidclub

I've been able to alter the nav bar appearance by using the options in the Display > Headers & Navigation > Nav Links section but the options to remove guest are either greyed out or not an option in this area for the login page and the particular nav bars HOME and CHAT.

Thanks again.

E

PS: I forgot to mention that HOME is directed to Forum and CHAT is directed to Portal.

So, you're trying to hide these from guests ? Try this :
Administration Panel > Modules > JavaScript codes management

Make sure javascript code management is enabled and create a new script.

Title : Your choice
Placement : In all the pages
Paste the code below and submit :
Code:
$(function(){if (_userdata.user_id===-1)$('a:has(#i_icon_mini_index),a:has(#i_icon_mini_portal)').remove()});

That's what I can think of, since you're not able to modify the viewing permissions of those links.
