Email already in use
Hello
I have a user that is trying to register. She has forgotten her username. When she tries to re register she gets a message that the email is already in use.
I have checked inactive users however that doesn't help because she doesn't remember her username.
When I search her email address, it says no such user.
How can I reset, or remove this email from the system that says no such user?

She will input her email address and it will send an email with the username and password.

When she presses "Forgot password" it will ask for the email, not the username.

She followed your instructions and this is the message she gets. She left username blank, but it says it's required.
Email address you supplied does not match the one listed for that username.
Items marked with a * are required.
Username: *E-mail address: *
ETA: I have searched variations of her email using asteriks for wild searches, but nothing comes up and yet the forum says it's already in use.

Ask her to check the emails in her "Old" folder to see the registration email she received to find her username.

Ask the member to give a list of possible usernames, then you search for those usernames and check to see if one matches the email address.

If your member remember the email used, you can find her username on the administrative panel thanks to the email.

The email she provided shows No such user in the admin panel. I had searched several possible usernames that she thought she used, no luck. I also searched parts of her email address, with no luck. I looked through inactive accounts, and bans, no luck.
When she tried to register a username with that email account, it came up, already in use, incorrect username.
She gave up, will create a new email, and register another username.
I would still like to see if I can find it, as it's obviously in the system somewhere.
If anyone has any other ideas, much appreciated.

When registering under a different username with her email address she recieve the message

ok here is what to do get the member to give you a user name, i will make an account in that name and then when i have done that go in and change the Email address from mine to there's then when the member makes a post in the forum go to there post click on the IP Address button it will show you all the members that have posted on that same IP address if that don't show that members old user name then the account was lost some how.
if you would like me to do this just inbox me your members username and i will inbox you back when the account is done.
