Solved Change default font color for input field?

Post by Espectra on November 19th 2014, 10:15 pm

Good afternoon. I am designing a forum to be incorporated into my website, and I have color coordinated the forum's design to match the website within which it will be integrated. The color scheme for the website and forum backgrounds a dark navy blue.

The problem I am running into is that the default font color for entering texts in a new post is black, which means that any text entered by the poster is illegible against the navy background until the poster manually changes the font color to something bright or to white.

The ideal solution would be to change the default font color on the input fields to white as opposed to black; however, I can't find a way to change the default input field text color, or the font for that matter, in the design options.

Everything else is exactly the way I need it to be, design-wise. It's just this one thing I can't seem to fix. Is there a way to do this? I know that I could simply change the input field background to a light color, but since the text will be viewed on a dark background by non-posting viewers, I would rather be consistent across the board to avoid confusion.

  color: YOUR COLOR;
}

CSS Styelsheet

I input this to my CSS stylesheet, but it does not appear to have changed anything. The text font is still black. Other ideas?

Did you add your color? Add the code to the top of the stylesheet.

I tried it both by adding the color number (#FFFFFF or FFFFFF) and by adding the color name (WHITE). Neither worked.

There is nothing else in my CSS code, so it's not like anything could interfere with it.

Hello Espectra,

If you're using WYSIWYG mode you must add a small script to change the font color.

Go to Administration Panel > Modules > Javascript codes management

Make sure javascript code management is enabled and Create a new script.

Title : Your choice
Placement : In all the pages
Paste the code below and submit :
Code:
$(function(){$(function(){$(".sceditor-container iframe").contents().find("head").append("<style>body,html,code:before,p,table{color:#fff!important;}</style>")})});

Perfect! This took care of it. Thanks so much, Ange!
