Solved "Post New" button background

Post by Espectra on November 25th 2014, 4:48 pm

Well, I may have lied when I said everything on my forum was exactly how I needed it.

The background of the "Post New" button does not seem to follow any of the background colors, or any other color for that matter, that I have set in the colors section of the design. Currently, the "Post New" button's background color is white, which shows it up well against the navy background of the forum; however, the stark contrast looks very out of place against the subtle color scheme of the rest of the forum.

What I'd like to do instead is eliminate the background color entirely, bring up the font color to set it apart from other links, and give the button a border that will set it off without making it look like a peacock among ostriches.

Essentially, what I really need it to look like is:

"Post New" button text: #FFE57F (a light yellow, matching the forum title and column headings)
"Post New" button background: #1C1F40 (dark navy, to match the background of the forum)
"Post New" button border: #0099FF (a royal blue that shows nicely against the dark navy background and matches the other borders on the forum)

Is there a CSS code for this? Or am I just missing it in the color options somewhere? I'm so ignorant about this kind of thing. Thank you for patiently answering my questions.

If they are images, you will need to exactly edit the images themselves.

Is it pre-set with an image as a background? I've gone through and edited almost all the background colors in the forum manually using CSS codes at this point, and that one still hasn't changed. I have not edited any images - just colors. How do I edit the images pre-set on the forum?

Go to your Administration Panel => Display => Pictures and Colors => Pics management

There you can see all the images on the forum, and that is where you can change them.

I see. So the button itself -is- an image. Thank you for clarifying this for me. That's a little discouraging. I was hoping it would be a quick fix, but it looks like I'll have to take some time to find a button set that will blend well with my forum design.

Thank you for your assistance. This is solved.

Yes, it is in fact an image. And you're welcome, sorry for the disappointment. Confused
