Try this in your CSS:

Code:
#logo, #logo img {padding:0px;width: 100% !important;height: 60% !important;}

You can change the numbers to your liking. I'd advice GIMP as a free tool to alter your banner if you need it ( http://www.gimp.org )

Ok somehow I'm getting further away from my desired design . I guess I lost the display that I just created . Now the above code makes my banner full screen size . If it has to take up the whole screen then I would prefer 1/3 of the heighth . I tried to change the pixels and percentages of the original image but I don't know what I'm doing

just set the width take the height offf it will auto size the height based on the width

for sizes there many ways you can do it

400px = pixels
50% = 50% of its containing element
50vw = 50% of the view width

here is an example of each

width: 650px;
width: 65%;
width: 50vw;
just remove the width and height in the code mati gave you and choose one of these and choose the size you want you may have to change it many times to get your desired size... i would recommend the px option

Well as I was trying to save a temporary theme I lost everything I had . So now the only two things in the CSS are the two codes i just put in there . And the banner isn't budging no matter what numbers I put in .

Solved Re: How to size main logo banner

Post by azwiz on November 28th 2014, 5:41 am

Ok that has sized the forum banner area to a better size . Now I want the banner to fit in that same size . But that's not even right . previously the right and left of the forum sides were each about half the size of the right and left side of the background . I had a nice sized background behind the right and left sides . And of course the middle section was not as wide to allow this nice background . The banner logo section area was still only as wide as the right and left side which left a couple inches of background on either side . So I guess I need to shrink the whole forum body . Because it is now as wide as the page or window and that's not how I want it .

Ok now I have revealed the background . It is back to the repeated little images . The code I thought fixed that isn't working .

So could you tell me how to stop the background image from repeating little images please . Also the forum banner image wont stretch or whatever to fill the banner .

BTW everything I entered into the blank CSS last night is gone . does that mean I have to reenter all the codes I put in last night ? I still need to know if I replace the # with numbers ? Yesterday was the first time I ever entered a code so pardon my ignorance please .

Ok I see that the # for the h & w get entered , just leave the # for the logo alone ?

I guess the answer is yes I will have to reenter the codes I put in last night .

Does that include each one that says" !impotant ". Because some that I have saved on my skynotes appear to be the same code , with the addition of the" !important ".

Also , do I also enter the words " Code: " or " Select Content Body " ?

I do not see anywhere that says click " savebody "

ugh

You assign a number at #. If you changed your skin, reenter your codes, and don't code or select content in your CSS

Let me be clear . I change the number at # . If it seems to reference a number of size value . But not if it seems to be there for some other reason ie:" # logo " which

probably represents a title number rather than size value . Glad I'm all clear on that now . lol

You probably lost your admin page because of this: http://help.forumotion.com/t137085-important-additional-servers

I highly doubt CSS would ruin it.
