Modern Invision?

Post by Hax4Ever on December 23rd 2014, 11:55 pm

So baisicly here I am requesting an entire rewrite of the InvisionPowerBoard theme, from what I am seeing of it, It looks NOTHING like I expected it to. I wanted it to look like the type of invision that you get when you normally pay for it or something like it.
Heres a couple of examples of the type of Invision I prefer:
Mine Imator Forums
Game Maker (Yoyogames)

I know this may be a little too much to ask , but Im just wondering if this is possible...

Edit:

@Hax4Ever wrote:I just got an idea:

In the forum settings when you choose phbb, punbb, invision, and stuff like that. You get to choose which version that you prefer. I think this could work very well depending on what users want. This could possibly give more choices and introduce a whole 'nother level of customization.

Very good

I like the way the Invision version looks.

I think it would be a good idea because the invision currently being used seems out of date and very similar to others appearance-wise and I think something new would be a very good take on the modern technology available nowadays.

I am not really convinced, I like the old looks too,
changing would disorient me.

Yet I'm not going to vote yet! Wink as to not prejudge an option just based on personal impression.
If your proposition implies a correction of the faulty version (ex. Windows Vista, vs Windows 7) most end-users blessed the change.

In our case, if the improved Invision version (beta, or other) provides no benefits, most will be resistant to change.

By saying this I don't want to scare you, but just remind you that as your idea implies major changes, to maybe use convincing argumentation in order to market what you want.

Maybe there could be a way to keep both?

I just got an idea:

In the forum settings when you choose phbb, punbb, invision, and stuff like that. You get to choose which version that you prefer. I think this could work very well depending on what users want. This could possibly give more choices and introduce a whole 'nother level of customization.

Well if it were just for me, edit your first post and integrate this idea in the vote as well.

Yes, given a choice will allow end-users to chose which version they want, and extending this to all versions would be, in my eyes at least, no luxury... Wink

Good point ! Thanks! Wink

Please read all the rules and guidelines.  Your question should have been asked in the support forums.  You can also change versions by installing a theme from Hitskins.
