Solved Profile-related questions

Post by Rupture on January 6th 2015, 10:39 pm

Hi,

I have a few questions I have not been able to resolve looking at the Tips & Tricks:

First question: Friends.
On my forum (and a few others I have seen), I have many friends, and they don't show up like here on Forumotion, all neat and one after the other in rows horizontal and vertical. The profiles of my friends are just thrown in the box and it looks kinda bad. What is the CSS or JS to making them all have a set place and not just kinda float around?

Second question: When I view a profile, the "Viewing Profile" at the top is too close to the left margin of the site. I would like to add a space there.
   Question 2.1: In addition, how can I change the "Viewing Profile" into just "Profile". I have gone to the Templates and I have realized that I can't find the Template to edit that. I also want to get rid of the current time displayed above but I can't find the template (I know how to get rid of the current time, I just haven't found the {L_CURRENT_TIME} for the profiles).

Question 3: Relating to the Profiles, when I go to the Visitor Messages, I want to change the name of the tab to just Wall or something else.
   Question 3.1: Also, and here is the real question, I have seen that there is no option to reply to messages. Is there somehow a way to add this?

Thanks to anyone who can answer any of these questions!

Solved Re: Profile-related questions

Hi @Rupture,

1. ) You'll have to adjust the size of the avatars to your liking. Here's the CSS :
Code:
.friend-block { width:60px }
.friend-block .avatar img, .friend-block .avatar { width:40px }

For template editing, there is no template for the advanced profile, there is however, one for the simple profil.

2. ) Add the following rule to your stylesheet. Adjust the 10px to increase or decrease the space.
Code:
h1.page-title { margin-left:10px }

2.1, 3, 3.1 ) Go to Modules > JavaScript codes management > Create a new script

Title : your choice
Placement : In all the pages
Code:
/\/u\d+/.test(window.location.pathname) && $(function() {
  $('h1.page-title').html($('h1.page-title').html().replace(/^.*?::/,'Profile ::'));
  $('h1.page-title').prev().css('display','none');
  $('#tabs li:first span').text('Wall');
  /wall/.test(window.location.pathname) && $('.message-block').each(function() {$(this).find('.message-footer').prepend('<li><a href="/privmsg?mode=post_profile&u='+$(this).find('.message-header a').attr('href').replace(/\/u(\d+)/,'$1')+'" title="Send this member a message">Reply</a></li>')});
});

It'll change Viewing Profile :: to Profile ::, Hide the current time, change visitor messages to "wall", and add a button which allows you to "Reply" to the user's VM. For the reply, it just lets you post a VM on their wall.

Hi Ange, the first 2 codes worked! However the third didn't change anything. If you need ACP to make sure it works it's no problem. Just let me know. Thanks

Solved Re: Profile-related questions

I tested on my test forum and it worked okay, so it could be because of an error on your forum. I checked and this script is throwing an error :
Code:
$(function(){$.getScript("http://images.cooltext.com/4064576.png")});

getScript() is for getting .js files, not images, so it's causing an error.
