Pro Admin User sees an incorrect version of the calender

Post by Burntweenie January 30th 2015, 2:33 pm

Hi

A very strange one this.

I have set a number of calender events with corresponding forums. All users see the correct dates - except one, who sees the events a listed one day in advance to everyone else. Of course, this is the same user who had problems registering! (Fate, eh?!?)

What everyone sees:
https://i.servimg.com/u/f38/19/10/74/17/dart_t11.jpg

What he sees:
https://i.servimg.com/u/f38/19/10/74/17/open_m10.jpg

http://iossc.forumotion.co.uk

user Mick G.

Any ideas why? I have checked the global and user date settings, all fine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
Mark

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

All seems OK. Here are a couple of grabs:

User sees an incorrect version of the calender Date_s10

User sees an incorrect version of the calender Date_s11

Any thoughts?

Best,
Mark

This has now spread to all members. Nothing has been altered by me. All events are now listed as happening one day in advance to their actual entered (scheduled) date)

Could this be malicious/an attack of some kind?

Sorry for paranoia/naivety.

Best,
Mark

SL - no change.

Thanks for your suggestion.

More info: User birthdays have not moved, only events that have been added to the calender 'manually'.

If that makes sense?

Mark

Did you create the events on the calendar or from a topic?

Created on the calender itself.  A topic link then appeared in the forum called 'Calender events'. Some of these were then moved to more suitable forums (topic specific).

Everything was fine for a few days, then one user reported the error. I logged in as several other users and everything was still normal for them, and today I had more emails form other users asking why the calender is now wrong!

Just very odd this started with one user (Mick G), and has now spread to all users.

Check the topics that were created to see if the settings are correct.

The events dates (in their title headings) in the ones I moved are correct, but are all one day ahead of where they should be on the calender.

User sees an incorrect version of the calender Topic_10
User sees an incorrect version of the calender April_10
User sees an incorrect version of the calender June_t10
All other calender events (except birthdays) are also one day ahead.

Could this be a 'hack' of some sort?

Just a thought I think this could be a bug when moving a post to some other forum.

I will run a test on my test site and see if it is doing the same. if it is then I will report it to the tech team.

APE

EDIT: I have run a test on my forum and have found that I cannot recreate the bug

can you try and make a new event and see if that then shows the problem when moved to a new part of the forum.

Many thanks Ape, have done this:

User sees an incorrect version of the calender Ides_110

'Ides of March' has been created and moved.

User sees an incorrect version of the calender Ides_210

Just as a further detail, the events for Committee Meetings 1&2 both moved from their Sunday slots to the proceeding Saturdays on the Calender, despite not being moved out of the forum topic 'calender events'. The same goes for all of the other topics in the forum "calender events".

I hope this helps - in the meantime, let's see what happens to Ides of March... Confused

What i will do is report this as a bug and ask @Buttercup to ask if this is a problem as i have done a test and found the problem is not showing on my forum.

I am thinking it was down to when we did a Timezone update some time back it may have messed the old files up a little but i can not be 100% sure on this thats why i will ask for other help from the tech staff.

Me or Buttercup will get back to you as soon as we can.

@SLGray Thanks Wink

Did you allow all your members to access http://iossc.forumotion.co.uk/f10-calendar-events topic?

I checked and some members don't see all dates! But dates appearing seem to be on the right place... Let me know!
