Chatbox Bot?

Is there a way i can create a profile on my forum specifically for being a chatbox bot? i noticed on another forum that they had a automated account for specifically being in the chatbox and helping people who asked certain questions or used certain key words. If someone were to type "where can i find the rules for the forum?" the bot account would post in the chatbox a link to the rules. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this or even knows what im genuinely talking about.

No, not really. Mostly because it would require you to have an account signed in at all times + a complex set of instructions to make responses. You could essentially make something like this which is client-side via JavaScript, but I don't know if anyone here has the time to develop something like that. Server-side would either require an account or access to the server which we don't have.
