Points not adding as they should

Hi,

Some members complained lately that their points had not been added as they should.
One also said she had lost a few points during the night she was off line.

The members getting automatically added points for some posts and some we add manually.

It is a graphic forum so many challenges to play and then they get points for them.
Also when stopping by to say Hi or how their weather is etc giving them auto-points. So every topic has it own points set.

They can then "buy" exclusive tubes or scrapkits in our shoppe.

So they work hard for those points and of course they wish to have them all and not loosing any.

Have you had any problem with the point system lately?
Just have to ask so I can give them an answer.

Do you have other administrators?  Check to see if they have modified these members' points.

We are 2 admins and I'm the founder. It was the other admin who told me that members had complained.

She is not adding the points manually. I do. You can say I do the more technical things.

Maybe it is the automatically adding that did not function for a few hours....

As I work with financial stuff in my daily work I am very careful when I am adding points manually and really checking that they are added. Want it to be okay... lol

Just thought I'll ask in case there was a problem somewhere.

But it is not a big deal so I just tell them that they can check their points more often and tell if it happens again with the withdrawal of points.

I wish there was a list for those points too but only for posts. Could be one row in the members list... lol

I'd check the points management to make sure everything is setup correctly. Sometimes when making new forums, the points wont be the same as the other forums, so you'll have to change that manually.
( Modules > Points system > Points management )

Just go over the per message and subject values, as well as the misc options at the top to make sure they're alright. I'm not sure what else can subtract from the points besides manual modifications.

As it is a new forum since February this year, of course all the points were set to new ones.

If a new post you might get +25 and if answering on it maybe +5 etc....
All are set to a number.

But it is good to know that it is not a program fault. Maybe only a glitch due to a backup or server hick-up....
