Solved Reputation system like this?

Post by Zuke on May 4th 2015, 7:50 pm

Hello, I love the Forumotion reputation system, is the code allowed to be released?

If not, can someone get me something close to this:

My forum version: PunBB

Many thanks,

Luke

You mean the reputation system, not vote.

@Ange Tuteur can answer this.

Solved Re: Reputation system like this?

The system here is developed for phpbb3, and adapted to the support forum. So I'm sorry, but I cannot provide it for your forum specifically. I can however, provide an alternative which I wrote a few years back :

Go to :
Administration Panel > Modules > JavaScript codes management > create a new script

Title : Your choice
Placement : In the topics
Paste the code below and submit :
Code:
$(function() {
    $('.vote').each(function() {
      if ($(this).find('.vote-bar').length) { var VCount = $(this).find('.vote-bar').attr('title').replace(/.*\((\d+).*\)/,'$1') }
      if (VCount == '1') { var vote = ' vote' }
      else { var vote = ' votes' }
      var VPlus = $(this).find('.vote-button:first a').addClass('VPlus').attr('title', 'Vote up');

      $(this).closest('.postmain').find('.post-options').append(VPlus);
      $(this).closest('.postmain:has(.vote-bar)').find('.post-options').append('<span class="VCount" title="'+VCount+vote+'">'+VCount+'</span>');
      $(this).remove();
    });

    $('.VPlus').click(function(){
      $.get($(this).attr('href'), function() {
          location.reload();
      });
      return false
    });
});

Then to style it go to :
Display > Colors > CSS stylesheet

and paste the following rules into your sheet :
Code:
/*Vote System*/
.VCount:before{
content:"+";
opacity:0.5;
filter:alpha(opacity=50);
}
.VCount{
color:#0A0;
font-size:10px;
font-weight:bold;
text-shadow:1px 1px 0px rgba(0,120,0, 0.3);
font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
cursor:default;
}
.VPlus{
color:#0A0 !important;
font-size:10px;
font-weight:bold;
text-shadow:1px 1px 0px rgba(0,120,0, 0.1);
font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
position:relative;
left:9px;
z-index:1;
}
.VPlus:hover{
color:#0D0 !important;
}
.vote{
opacity:0;
filter:alpha(opacity=0);
}

It should add a plus for voting along with a count for voted posts next to the post options.

Everything is customizable through the CSS and script, if any questions, let me know.

Thanks Ange! This is in process, but is there a way to add the little thumbs up button instead of using +?

Replace the script with this, so you can set the default text of the plus button :
Code:
$(function() {
    $('.vote').each(function() {
      if ($(this).find('.vote-bar').length) { var VCount = $(this).find('.vote-bar').attr('title').replace(/.*\((\d+).*\)/,'$1') }
      if (VCount == '1') { var vote = ' vote' }
      else { var vote = ' votes' }
      var VPlus = $(this).find('.vote-button:first a').addClass('VPlus').attr('title', 'Vote up').html('+');

      $(this).closest('.postmain').find('.post-options').append(VPlus);
      $(this).closest('.postmain:has(.vote-bar)').find('.post-options').append('<span class="VCount" title="'+VCount+vote+'">'+VCount+'</span>');
      $(this).remove();
    });

    $('.VPlus').click(function(){
      $.get($(this).attr('href'), function() {
          location.reload();
      });
      return false
    });
});

Now, replace both the +'s in the CSS ( content:"+"; ) and JavaScript ( html('+') ) with whatever you want. To have to thumbs up, you first must install Font Awesome on your forum :
http://help.forumotion.com/t140086-how-to-install-and-use-font-awesome

Afterwards you can use any icon from the cheatsheet.
http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/cheatsheet/

Note that you must wrap the icons with the following tags.
Code:
<i class="fa"></i>
( or any tag as long as it has the .fa classname )

CSS :
Code:
/*Vote System*/
.VCount{
color:#0A0;
font-size:10px;
font-weight:bold;
text-shadow:1px 1px 0px rgba(0,120,0, 0.3);
font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
cursor:default;
}
.VCount:before{
content:"";
opacity:0.5;
filter:alpha(opacity=50);
font-family:FontAwesome
}
.VPlus{
color:#0A0 !important;
font-size:10px;
font-weight:bold;
text-shadow:1px 1px 0px rgba(0,120,0, 0.1);
font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
position:relative;
left:9px;
z-index:1;
}
.VPlus:hover{
color:#0D0 !important;
}
.vote{
opacity:0;
filter:alpha(opacity=0);
}

JavaScript :
Code:
$(function() {
    $('.vote').each(function() {
      if ($(this).find('.vote-bar').length) { var VCount = $(this).find('.vote-bar').attr('title').replace(/.*\((\d+).*\)/,'$1') }
      if (VCount == '1') { var vote = ' vote' }
      else { var vote = ' votes' }
      var VPlus = $(this).find('.vote-button:first a').addClass('VPlus').attr('title', 'Vote up').html('<i class="fa"></i>');

      $(this).closest('.postmain').find('.post-options').append(VPlus);
      $(this).closest('.postmain:has(.vote-bar)').find('.post-options').append('<span class="VCount" title="'+VCount+vote+'">'+VCount+'</span>');
      $(this).remove();
    });

    $('.VPlus').click(function(){
      $.get($(this).attr('href'), function() {
          location.reload();
      });
      return false
    });
});
