Once the topic reaches a certain length it will be moved to a new page, if thats what you mean.

Why Can't you edit Templates?

I have a phbb3 Forum and I have edited the templates.

Simply do not want to edit the template I want to edit the CSS only do you have a solution?

 Like SLGray said the only you may have  to do this with template editing. 

However you will only be editing the part that changes the way the page number box appears and nothing else.

Ok so here is what i will TRY to do i will make it similar to that one but not copy it 100% because it may break Copyright issues.

So it does appear that you will need to do some template editing to achive this effect.

Now i did find out how to make it gray if that works for you?

Again there is no way achieve it with out making changes in your template.

Editing the templates can be easily undone by deleting the modified templates.

Changing the background colour, setting a border and some other tweeks can be achieved by using only css. Otherwise, editing the templates of your site will be needed.
