How to set a USERNAME variable for automatic messages?

Post by ForeverPotterLock on May 10th 2015, 3:50 pm

I have set automatic welcome message for all users, however I wish to give it a more personal feel and make it say the user's username.

Example

Hello, ForeverPotterlock, welcome to forumotion

instead of...

Also, I made a test account and the message looked like this:
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Hi {username}</span>
</div>

<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br /></span>
</div>

Hello,

You just have to change the {username} to
Code:
{USERNAME}
. It has to be all capitals.

That will show the user's username Smile.

Also try using bbcode instead of html, the field may not support it.
Hope this helps,
-Brandon

Hi, I was under the impression that this message was typed in bbcode. I was using the visual editor and it was forumotion that had automatically converted my message into the coding.
