Solved Creating a Private Forum

Post by bragan kelly9 on May 17th 2015, 8:28 pm

Hello, I just joined and am just a bit lost here. I created my forum for the purpose of having private team forum(s) for users on a football gaming site. I want to create private forums that only certain users can see (that I select). Thank you in advance for any help.

Solved Re: Creating a Private Forum

Hello,

You would have to create a group for each team, then set the user to that group.

Then for the team forums you would need to change it so only the groups you want can see it.

I can provide instructions on how to do this if you need me to.

Hello,
To create the groups go to Acp (Admin panel)-->Users and groups-->Groups-->Groups management and hit the green plus icon.

After making it, it gives me the option to let certain users view/ reply to it. I set it so only a certain group can do this. Do I make the thread locked or hidden?

After creating the groups, go here: AP > General > Forum > Categories & Forums
Create the group forums and set the permissions for the groups. Or modify the permissions if the forums are already created. Make sure to be in the advanced permission mode.
