Solved Forum CSS

Post by whitestone on May 24th 2015, 1:57 pm

Is there any possibilty to edit the FULL CSS of my forum?
When i go to Display > Pictures and colors > Colors > CSS I only can edit some of my css.
Above it says:See your forum's basic CSS, buti only can view it not edit.
I want edit it.

NB: on the tabDisplay > Pictures and colors > Colors > CSS> CSS Stylesheet

css = Cascading StyleSheet

So the admin panel just says: Cascading StyleSheet Stylesheet, am I right?

Hello @whitestone and Good afternoon.

when you go to your ACP > Display > Pictures and colors > Colors > CSS
in the box that has your CSS files in just go in the box and make your change by clicking the start of the text once you have done that just click save.

If your clicking see the See your forum's basic CSS then you can not edit the text as this is just a set text for your forum.

This it the part you should Edit:

Hope that helps.

To override the basic CSS, you have to add your CSS code to the stylesheet.

@APE, yes that option I already knew that.

@SLGray, I also know that, but I was just asking if I can paste whole css in that box.

I copied the Basic CSS, but then it gave me an error of 'The CSS code you inserted is too long. Please make it shorter.'

So I think it is not possible.

There is no need to put the Basic CSS files in your forum they are already running in the background
if you remove all the text in the CSS files then the Basic ones come back in to play.

we don't really understand what your trying to do !! if you was to tell us what your trying to do then we can help you more.

There is a limit to the CSS stylesheet. You should only add what you want to changed.

well then that is your problem if you have text / codes already in there and then you add more in it will hit the limit... I am still not sure why you are adding the basic css codes to your forum if you just remove the codes that are already in the box making sure you save them in say note pad on your computer then hit save then your basic CSS will take there own place back in the forum. There is really no need to add any of the basic code in that box as its already running in the background until you make a change to them.
