Solved [Solved] NavBar Appearance 3.1 (After-Text)

Post by Ace 1 on June 8th 2015, 1:23 pm

Hey I'm using the following code to change the hover scheme in my forum:

Code:
a{
 text-shadow: 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000;
 text-decoration:none;
 -webkit-transition: all 0.75s;
 -moz-transition: all 0.75s;
 transition: all 0.75s;
}
a:hover{
    color: #0ff;
    text-decoration: none !important;
    text-shadow: 0 0 0.1em #0FF, 0 0 0.1em #0FF, 0 0 0.1em #0FF !important;
}

But the following code (that allows me to change the text of "Home") disallows the code above. Does anyone have a code that will work for me?

Code:
a.mainmenu[href="/"] { font-size:0 }
a.mainmenu[href="/"]:after {
 content:"Index";
 font-size:11px;
 text-shadow: 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000;
}

You are missing the hover part in the last code.

@SLGray I tried this code:

Code:
a.mainmenu[href="/"] { font-size:0 }
a.mainmenu[href="/"]:after {
content:"Index";
font-size:11px;
text-shadow: 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000;
}
a.mainmenu[href="/"].hover {
color: #0ff;
text-decoration: none !important;
text-shadow: 0 0 0.1em #0FF, 0 0 0.1em #0FF, 0 0 0.1em #0FF !important;
}

And it still doesn't work...

In your main rule, add a:after, and a:hover:after. This way it'll affect all instances of link text replaced by CSS.
Code:
a, a:after {
  text-shadow: 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000, 0 0 1em #000;
  text-decoration:none;
  -webkit-transition: all 0.75s;
  -moz-transition: all 0.75s;
  transition: all 0.75s;
}
a:hover, a:hover:after {
    color: #0ff;
    text-decoration: none !important;
    text-shadow: 0 0 0.1em #0FF, 0 0 0.1em #0FF, 0 0 0.1em #0FF !important;
}
( If you're using :before for text replacement, you should also do the same )
