Fade Effect Issues Empty Fade Effect Issues

I was given a link to this site a couple days ago, the person was basically teaching how to place the fade effect when you run your mouse over the picture. The picture fades and text is replaced with it, I'm having trouble working the code because I was going to use it for some widgets, but I wouldn't know how to put this code in for my widgets. :/ Pretty confused on what I should do.
